You should be fine dropping him off at 6:00 and then heading to Palo. It is not "if your not there at 6:00, you can't come in". They have some flexibility.

Even if you plan on going in October, you should experience it this trip.

Remember, though, that Tuesday night is Pirate night and you may want to cancel to spend dinner with your kids that night.
Hope things work out for you.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, when I booked, I didn't know about Pirate night....not to mention that there wan't much availability and I just grabbed a ressie.

Speaking of Pirate night....do we need to bring anything, or is everything provided? What exactly to they do on Pirate night?

Pirate Night is generally Tropical Attire although people have worn Pirate stuff. We had DS wear his Pirate costume in October and we will bring it along this time.

They will give you a bandana to wear if you wish. Other than that, they don't provide anything else. The wait staff will be dressed up in Pirate attire and there is a special Pirate menu. (if you go out to the site that has the first part of DCL's island in it and then put "club" after it and then the dot com, you can view the menus as well as the navigators. Unfortunately, DIS does not allow us to link to the site.)

They then have a Pirate party on the pool deck around 9:30 or so complete with fireworks.

DW and DS love that night. She would not let me book Palo for that night. I think the people who are kidless look to get out of the main restaurants that night and go to Palo.

Hope that helps.

Jeff

Moon tans, a spray on tan at a salon. $100.00 for 5 sessions. 3 for me, 2 for my husband although he will go kicking and screaming!
1st one is Thurs.

I had to make my hubby go the first time we went to Mexico and now he loves it.

DH does the tanning bed thing. Good thing or he would look funny with pastey white legs with kilt (if he wears it for formal night).

Me, I'm very sun sensitive due to medication and have to be very careful (I wear SPF 60 or 80). I've done the spray on tan before but not sure if I'll bother this time. Instead, I decided to invest in some clothing from "Sun Protective Clothing" and accept the fact that tanning is just a big no-no for me. Clothing is on order from internet, hopefully it gets here in time.

Got my bracelets today. :cool1:  Thanks Lisa (leejay22).

Question, how many others on the board colored in the words on their bracelets?

Just wondering if that is the consensus among the board.

Thanks,

Jeff

I've been reading lots of posts. Great info posted ....but not to worry....let's get pumped up....I've never cruised before but I know it's going to be great. We are going to have fun....I know those of us in Greenville, NC are sitting on GO! I can't wait till the 21st......

Everyone will need to cover their eyes for us because we will be pasty white. DH and I are working our fingers to the bone just to get out of the office to leave next Friday (we work in the same office). Oh, and our bracelets will be "nekked" and au natural.

A second pasty white family here, no time for tanning. I colored one of our bracelets but didn't really like the way it looked, so the rest are naked :) Getting excited. Just finished up our door signs tonight, not as many as I wanted but they will do. Now to start on our t-shirts for embarkation day :)

I hear you!

I read DS8 two chapters of Harry Potter tonight. My old eyes are tired but I had to jump on the laptop to try and get some work done. With only 8 working days left, its crunch time for us! Of course, I needed a break so I jumped on the DIS for some sympathy. :chat:

I can't wait to get away from this computer for a week. :badpc: I have always wanted to use that little smiley!!!!! LOL.

Morning!

Has anyone heard of the Playstation in St. Maarten? It's a floating playground for kids - trampoline, slide in the water, etc. It's at Simpson Bay.

I know that at Great Bay Beach (the beach right at the port) there is a water trampoline. The only problem is that the water suddenly gets very deep at that beach. Our DS8 is not a strong swimmer, so we head the opposite direction on Great Bay Beach and just hang out and build sand castles. I think St. Maarten day is our favorite, because is so relaxing, and we still have much of the cruise ahead of us. I know GBB is not the most beautiful, but we like the non-stress. BTW, last January the QM2 was tendering in St. Maarten. We go some cool pics. She looks a lot like the Magic, IMHO. Hmmmm. . . . . Copycats!!! :scratchin

Hi All My Disney Cruisers..... ::MinnieMo Can't wait to Meet all of you. I was curious about our first night on the ship... will dinner be a buffet style? :cool2:

But on the first night the dining experiences begin so I plan to take full advantage of that. You will find out which dining room you start in and that begins your very first night......enjoy

NUHusky - welcome to the excitement! I'm seriously not able to concentrate on anything else these days! :hyper: We've cruised before but not the Disney way and without kids. I'm thinking this will be a little different.... :rotfl:

Scubabeck - do you have kids?

Are we up-to-date on our master list Jeff? I'm just curious to know our total!
