Lucky you Crystal! I am off to brave the mall one last time today. It seems every year no matter how early I start shopping I am still rushing around at the last minute; and I have yet to wrap a thing. (Sounds like I need a proffessional intervention for my organizational skills)

Can't wait for the next 30 days to rush by. (This time 30 days from now I will be in the Magic Kingdom :earsgirl: )

I'm getting soooo excited about the cruise. I just got back from Christmas Shopping. I'm trying to put a "family cruise pak" together for a family Christmas gift. Got blank tshirts for it today..still have to design and print. I'm going to include a new two-way radio set for us to use on our trip. Plus magnetic door signs, some pirate stuff for pirate night..., Mickey Mouse Journal, and I'm sure there's more but I have to pull everything out of the hiding places. I hope I can remember where I hid things. Happy holiday preparations everyone!

Sandy when are you going? we leave on the 20th and are staying at Port Orleans French quarter and then also a night AFTER the cruise at the same place. Unfortunatly no parks for us but definatly going to downtown disney at least once :Pinkbounc

We are actually done shopping, but still need to wrap.

Call us crazy, but we started painting our dining room one week before Christmas (and yes we are having people over).

DS does not know we are going on the cruise in January. He keeps asking when we're going on vacation again. DW and I just keep telling him we were just on vacation. He'll be really excited when he finds out were going on the Magic again.

Crystal, we were thinking of staying at POFQ also before the cruise. We are coming down on the 19th. We are also not going back until the 29th, so we'll be staying in WDW on the 28th. We haven't picked where yet, but DW wants to go to Downtown Disney on Sunday. We are planning on going to the parks on that Saturday. I wanted to go back to PO-R, but we were also thinking of WL. PO-R would be nice because of the boat to DT. We may do POFQ since that is DW's favorite.

We are getting there on 1/19 at 11:30pm, staying at Pop Century for 2 nights. My kids need a little Disney fix so we're headed to MK during the morning/afternoon, then to Jiko for dinner and finally to Epcot for extra magic hours, don't think we'll stay 'till closing though. Just long enough to ride Soarin' and Mission Space and of course watch Illuminations, maybe a quick spin on test track too. We will be so tired we will need the cruise to rest :)

Sandy,

Your plans are very similar to ours. We plan on going to MK in the morning and early afternoon, back to the hotel for some relaxation, dinner at Roaring Forks (WL) with friends down for a convention, and then to EPCOT for the evening (taking advantage of the extra hours).

We also will not be staying until close. DS won't make it.

Just an FYI, Test Track will be closed for repairs. DS will be so disappointed.

Bummer, that's 2 things DS will not get to do now. Buzz Lightyear is also closed. He'll like Soarin' though definitely.

For you guys that are going days earlier are you using the DCL transfer? if so what time do they usually pick up at the hotels to go to port?

Crystal,

We are renting a car, one-way, both before and after the cruise. It was approximately $50+ before and around $80 on the back end. The rentals are for 2 days on each end.

We just like the flexibility of getting to port when we wanted. Plus, we have transportation to and from the airport as well.

Most people on the boards go with Avis or Budget (we've used both before). This time, we are going to try Thrifty.

As for the time the bus picks you up at the hotels, I think it is around noon. I'm not totally certain about that, however. You may want to do a search on the boards.

Jeff

We are using a town car service for the whole trip.

I am glad Christmas is a few days away because I am having cruise anxiety. My brain can only absorb so much but I am constantly looking for new websites, articles, tours, pictures etc.....I don't know how much more I can take. Can anybody recommend a cure. I have finally started tossing things in a box for the cruise. I don't want to forget anything..even though I am sure I will.....that is what I am known for. Must be a trait I get from my mother...the last cruise she forgot to pack all of my fathers pants...hahahaha...good thing it was only 5 days and another family member went along that was his size..and he is a big man. Well I am sure with the holidays right around the corner some of you including myself might not get to venture over to the boards as much as we like so I want to take the time now to wish each and every one of you and your famlies A WONDERFUL AND SAFE CHRISTMAS AND A FANTASTIC NEW YEAR!!! :bounce:

Clewert,

Regarding bus pick-up...Years ago, before we lived in Florida, we stayed at the Swan pre-cruise. At that time, the bus picked us up at about 11am. We then went to the Caribbean Beach and picked up a second group.

Now that I live here, I can tell you that I see cruise busses going all day on Saturdays. I think some leave as late as 1 or 2pm. I would recommend just calling your resort, or DCL, and asking. :earsgirl:

Is anyone going to be at the Radisson on the 20th or is everyone in Disney?

We are staying at the Hampton Inn at Cocoa Beach the night before AND we are getting back and forth via towncar.

I spurged and got a limo since my DGS was so fascinated with them when he saw them pull up at our hotel at DW. We will be arriving around 1:45 at MCO.

Winter officially begins today at 12:35 p.m. CT (1:35 p.m. ET).

Our cruise is officially one month from today.

Lets see, one month from the start of winter, I will be either sitting at a table watching DS in the Mickey Pool or heading to our stateroom (I believe they let you down there at 1:30). :cool1:

By the way, does anyone remember when our docs get delivered? Is it at about 3 or 4 weeks out? I have such a bad memory on this.

We are at the Holiday Inn Express in Cocoa Beach and are renting a car from Budget both before and after the cruise. Craig
