!!!! Early Roll Call for January 21 2006 Eastern Magic Cruise !!!!

Craig,

Did you change your flights? I thought you were coming back on Saturday afternoon.

Also, did you ever get AirTran to switch you to the non-stop?

Is anyone going to be at the Radisson on the 20th or is everyone in Disney?
We are arriving at MCO at 1:30 on the 20th (weather providing) and have rented a car through Budget. We will be staying at the Radisson. I was thinking we would drop the car off Friday as late as possible so we don't have to worry about it on Sat. Do you think that is a good idea? I booked us on the 10:30 shuttle from the Radisson.

By the way... long time ago I had stated it would be just myself and my DD10 on the cruise. Well, good news - my DH and I have reconciled, we are no longer separated, and he is coming on the cruise (managed to get him on and on the same flight). This will be a very special trip for us as a family. :goodvibes

Has anyone gotten an upgrade yet?

No upgrade for us yet. I am not expecting one though since we booked into a group.

I am so happy for you! What a great Christmas gift for your family!!!!

crazy4M - Congrats! We are also on the 10:30 shuttle. Maybe we can get together the evening of the 20th.

crazy4m, that is great news. Your family will have a great time together on the trip.

sandym, gydell and jldsmd - Thanks for the congrats. It is wonderful, especially at this time of year.

That sounds great. I think we also arrive about 15 minutes apart at MCO.

Is there a nice bar at the Radisson? Where would you recommend to eat dinner, onsight or ????? Also we are hoping to stop at a Walmart or other store to pick up water, beer and wine to take onboard. Any easy suggestions?

ok - now I have to go for one last trip to the mall...ugh.

No upgrade for us (but still hoping). I will be checking the available rooms again this weekend (takes a while the way I do it).

As of December 1, there were 17 Cat 7's, 35 Cat 5's and 15 Cat 4's. I know I counted the Cat 6's but the list I have here at work doesn't have them. I think I posted it after I counted them, however. Cat 6's take the longest to do.

We're arriving at 6:30 on the 20th and staying at the Embassy Suites, then using FL Tours the rest of the way.

Brett

Jeff, We are arriving at 1:30pm on Friday and leaving at 4:15pm on the Saturday after the cruise. I did switch to the non-stop out of MKE on Friday at 8:15am. No upgrade here either, but I don't expect one being we have a SPH room. It seems like a lot of rooms still open this close to the cruise. Maybe some cheaper upgrades at the port.

So who in our group will get their DOC's first?

Craig

:goodvibes I check daily and it still says cat 12 gty....maybe that is a good sign...I can't wait to do the document dance......

Thanks for sharing your special news, Crazy4M! :cool1: I love a happy ending.

No upgrades here, either. We got one our very firt cruise (Cat 11 to a Cat 7!), but none since then. :confused3 We're Cat 5 this time, so I really don't expect one. :flower:

Does anyone remember when Docs generally arrive? It makes the cruise feel so real to actually hold that little "suitcase" of docs. Too fun. :teeth:

Happy Shopping! Merry Christmas! Good Eating!

Lisa

Craig,

OK, your sitting there wondering what world I'm living on. When I went back and reread your post there is no mention of you staying on the back end, just using Budget on the back end. Boy I need a vacation.

Congrats though on getting switched to the non-stop. That will work out well for you. One flight and you're there. Did they give you any hassle?

Also, bring your headsets, AirTran has XM satellite radio on there planes (at least the ones we were on).

Have you been collecting any Wendy's cups? AirTran and Wendy's has a promotion that for every 4 medium sodas you buy, you get one AirTran credit. 16 credits gets you a free flight. You'll have 2 credit automatically when you fly in January, so you need only 14 credits or 56 sodas. At approx $1.25 per soda (including tax) that works out to only $70 to get a free flight. Not a bad deal.

Lisa,

I just emailed my TA to see when we should be expecting our docs. I will post what she says.

The "suitcase" of docs is smaller now. They only send one of the "books" per family as opposed to the 3 DW, DS and I received last year.

I like the less paperwork.

Being a TA myself I have found the docs arriving 2 to 3 weeks out in our home office.

For some reason Disney seems to really wait until closer to cruise. I have people on RCI sailing the exact same day and I got their docs last week. Over a month out. Oh well I guess we will know when somebody posts they have received them. I am wondering who gets them quicker..those that went directly with DCL or the Travel Agents on the thread. ::MinnieMo
