Early Posting of December Hours - Bound to Change?

Interestingly the first 6 days of park hours for December 2010 are now visible on the Disneyland website. They are clearly not complete as they have nothing listed for shows or parades.

But what I find curious is that the Candlelight Processional is "always" the first weekend in December and the cast member parties are the Monday and Tuesday after that weekend and DL closes early.
For the hours posted SO FAR (and again, my whole point is I'm thinking they'll change as they are more 'final' with shows and parades added) this would NOT be the case on 12/6.

Do people agree that the hours currently seen in early December will change?

I can't answer your post but I am also wondering the same thing.:confused3 I am hoping the times don't change much (if at all), planning to go during the first week of Dec. and would hate to see the hours shortened. You are not alone in your wait for the final schedule for Dec!! :goodvibes

I was thinking the same thing. Have any cast members heard when/if they are having cast parties this year? We are debating about when to go--the first or second week of December. The calendar offers no insight right now.

I highly expect the hours for the 6th and 7th to change.

ETA: The DL hours during Halloween parties were incorrect when first posted as well.

When I called DLH a couple months ago to orginally book for that weekend/week, Monday the 6th was already booked, CM said it was because of cast parties, so we went ahead and booked for the following week. So, I would say yes, hours for that Monday and Tuesday will probably change!

Interesting that cast member parties causes hotel rooms to fill up???? Any thoughts on why? Are employees booking the hotels?? Friend, Family???

Yes, that's what I wondered too...? Odd. But it was funny that 2 months ago (yes we were eager to book) :), just that Monday was already booked at DLH.

We are going 11/29 - 12/3 and I am waiting for some finalized scheduling to be done those first few days.

We've visited DLR the past 2 early Decembers both times being there while CM parties were happening *but avoiding the CP* both times were great - low crowds *they still do the fireworks* we spent our evenings at DCA *last year we had a dinner at Goofy's Kitchen.

In the years past, how late does DLR wait to announce their Candlelight weekend & times? I'm going 12/4-8 for the first time ever and will be disappointed if Candlelight is that weekend as I'm not interested in attending and could do without the additional crowds. However, I am using a GAD voucher on my trip which has a block out date of 12/11-12 - so I was assuming there must be something special happening that weekend and had assumed that it must be Candlelight (not realizing this historically has occured the week prior).

So, I guess I'm really answering my own question - but have they really not announced the dates for Candlelight?

And, two, is Candlelight a hard ticket event for DLR? Or is it just crowded at DL when it is going on? If I am there during that time, will I just be able to go to DCA instead?

I had not noticed the GAD blackout. The GAD voucher must be redeemed by Dec 15, so specifically blocking Dec 11-12 indicates something important is taking place on those dates.

I have not been able to find any official announcement. By this time last year, the D23 Candlelight event had already been announced. Candlelight was never listed on the online park schedule.

There are no tickets for Candlelight. Only a few benches are available for the general public, and will be filled when the park opens. The entire area around the flagpole will be filled with reserved seats, with public standing room outside that. DL remains open during Candlelight, so a single-park ticket will not become a park-hopper.

Oh, I'm trying not to be sad...we originally tried to book for the week earlier, but that Monday before wasn't available at the DLH, so we went ahead with Dec.11-15 instead. So, most likely will CP be on the 12th? I don't mind the shortened hours on Mon. and Tues. as long as its not super crowded!

I agree! The shortened hours could be a blessing if people are staying away because of it. I'm hoping that the rest of that week will be longer hours, I'd like to catch the fireworks from the castle.

At first I was disappointed but I figure on those days we can skip our afternoon break and everyone will be good and tired by the time we get back to our room which means early to bed - early to rise (WITHOUT their grumpy pants on).

And, to answer OP's question...I don't think that the hours will change. I think how they're going to swing it is up in the air, hence no posting of event times, but I think the hours are here to stay.
