Early part of May Park Hours

DNBOIS,i started to tell them to take a look at this forum but decided not too.glad you did.:p

I sent my email in, too. Let's see if we get any responses.

I've just sent an email, too. I know Disney added some stuff last year during May when crowds (and complaints, perhaps) warrented the additions. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I sent my email reminding them that they added Spectro and FIS at the last minute last year and wanted them to do it again this year. Hope it helps. We will have agreat trip no matter what because this trip was very unexpected but I am crossing my fingers for Spectro and FIS.

luvindisneyworld - I really hope they check out these posts; more than 2,000 members have checked out these comments!!!

I cannot believe the hours for MK are 9-7 - how can they justify leaving MGM open until 9??? I wouldn't be so upset if they had at least one E-ride night the first week of May but they don't. I have to say that even though we are still going, we are very disappointed in the way Disney is treating its clientele. Even with the war, patrons from all around have come in droves to attend the parks and the least they can do is step up to the plate. Alright - I think I've vented enough:)

I too am so glad you told them about this thread DNBois. I couldn't figure out how to word it into my message so I didn't. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they listen. It's just not fair for them to exclude the whole month of May of Spectro but still expect us to pay regular rates.

I think partially the reason that MGM is open until 9:00PM every night is because of Fantasmic. Fantasmic is a tremendously popular show that runs every night, but it needs to be dark for the show. And with the longer days coming, & daylight savings time, etc., it gets dark later. Notice that on all of those nights Fantasmic begins at 9:00PM.

As for there being no Spectro in May...cutbacks. If enough people were coming in May, it would be happening.

I understand about the cutbacks. My DH may not even have a job when we get back from our May trip because of this failing economy. Usually we go to WDW in November. And when we do we know from the get go that this is a slower time of year at Disney and we will be lucky if we get to see spectro and fantasy in the sky. {although all five fall trips we did have them}We chose to go in May this year because our new son in law has never been to Disney World and our daughter wanted him to see her very favorite attraction, the spectro magic parade. If attendence is that far down for the spring then surely Disney should be re-thinking their pay schedules. It just isn't right for them to exclude us May guests from some of the things that made us choose WDW as our vacation destination while still expecting us to pay regular season rates. Is one parade a week really going to put them into bankruptcy? I realize times are bad but they are bad for practically everyone. We almost cancelled our trip because of this war and the shakey economy. But after alot of thought we figured this may be the last chance we have for a family vacation with all of us together. And I know that this is the most important thing so not seeing a parade isn't going to ruin our family trip but it would be nice if Disney would hear us and throw just a teeny little bit of their famous magic our way in early May.

I too emailed. We don't get to WDW enough to have to miss our favourite things when we do go.

As some others have posted, I think there's a real good chance they add them on Sunday. I don't know why they don't just schedule it that way to begin with, it would save a lot of grief. We went the first week last year and checked in on Saturday and there was nothing scheduled for the week. I don't think we even found out about adding the Sunday until Sunday morning. When they do stuff like that there are lots of people who don't realize they have updated hours unless they happen to be at MK that day anyway.

I hope it's not as hot for everyone as it was last year. I think it was mid 90's the first week last year.

We aren't planning on going to the MK our first day which will be Sunday the 4th. Do you know where we could find out if a spectro parade has indeed been added for that night? Or do we have to go to the front desk to ask? Thanks for your positive post Spartan. And I hope too that it isn't as hot as last year. Yuck!
