I will be at DCA for just one day on Monday 11/20 with my 3 DDs. We have 8:15 Dessert party reservations for the 9:00 show. It's a 10:00 park closing. Now I see that there is a second WoC at 10:15 that night. I'm torn- we are short and are not fond of wasting park time to wait so I bought the dessert party thinking it would be perfect for us! BUT....now with the later show, it essentially gives us longer hours in the park that day as the show is after park closing. There does not appear to be a dessert party offered for the second show. So what to do?? Enjoy the party at the 9:00 showing or deal with the craziness and see the second show in exchange for a little extra park time???

Maybe call and ask if they are going to offer a dessert party for the second showing. Maybe it's just not on the site yet?

We did the desert party this past weekend. Currently, the dessert party is only available during the first showing. I don't think they have enough customers to fill both shows so they only do the first show.

There were a few empty tables when we did it on Saturday October 29 so I'm guessing it's popular but Not THAT popular

I believe I read somewhere that it has only been offered for the first show in the past.

If you really don't want to wait for a good viewing spot and if good viewing is a necessity (I'm short, too, so I understand this), then the Dessert Party sounds like your best bet. Enjoy it as a special experience to end your Disney day. The wait for a good spot for the second show is significantly shorter than it is for the first show (for us, about 30-45 minutes max. for the second show vs. 90 minutes min. for the first show), but it's still time spent waiting for the rope to drop, then waiting again for the show to start. At least with the Dessert Party you'll get sweets and drinks.

So what do they do with the dessert party area for the second show? Do they leave the tables and chairs there? Is it closed off? Do they open it of other guests? Seems like there may be an opening there to to snatch a decent spot for the second showing.

so..... if they do two shows a night, how crowded is the late one? like a busy holiday weekend(dec 15-17) what do ya'll think? I'd love to not have to do the DP..... but want to help fam members avoid crazy crowd situations...if the late one clears out, then we could get FP for that maybe? And do you get to choose which showtime if you're just getting FP?

The second show probably will be less crowded than the first show (we've never been packed in like sardines at the second show), but it can still be crowded, especially during peak times. If you choose to go with the free FPs, study the map on the first page of the WOC super thread to know exactly where you want to go when the sections open. Have a first, second, and third choice so you can move quickly if your spots are taken. You won't get a choice of showtimes when you pull your FPs from the machine (the order has been first show: blue section, then yellow; second show: blue section, then yellow), so just ask the CM at the machines which show is currently being given out and when you should return to get the show and section you want.

We prefer the late show but if you want the dessert party, I believe it's only for the early show.

Ok Now I'm really curious..... our date is Dec. 17,a Saturday...what are the odds we can see the 2nd show, not dessert party - using regular fastpasses from the machines.... and once we have our fp- show up at like 10:30 for 11 pm show and still be ok?
