Early October - Halloween ?

Since we don't really celebrate Halloween here in Aus., it hadn't dawned on me that because we'll be there in early October, there may be some decorations along a Halloween theme.

Can anyone please let me know if that will be the case (our last day in the parks will be 9th October), and if so, what we might be likely to expect ?

Also, we'll be at the DLH for the last three days, so I'm assuming that if the parks are decorated, then the hotel will be too ?

TIA !

Yes all the Halloween decorations will be up in the parks. I don't know about hotels. You'll also find the Holiday HM. Everything goes up late September. Be aware you may run into crowds if you'll be there during Gay Days. I think there's also another event maybe in early October? Not sure. But I know you'll have fun!!!!!!!!

Thanks, Jen :) Actually, we're spending that weekend in Las Vegas, as I'd read here on DIS that weekends were mega-busy at DL regardless, so thought that would be a good time to choof off to LV).

I'm glad we'll be there for a "special season". It'll make it that much more memorable (excuse the mmmmms :) )

I read on another site that Gay Days does not affect crowd levels...not sure if this is true or not? Anyone been there that weekend?

@emum: I love, love your sig pic! Totally reminds me of my first visits to the park and I totally miss the People Mover and the Skyway! We are planning a trip during early October and I am hoping the crowds aren't crazy.

I myself have never been during Gay Days, but my co-worker did last year, she said it was crazy busy!! Dont know if the hotels are decorated, but the parks are beautiful!! Have fun!!

Vegas, huh? You'll be in my neck of the woods. :goodvibes

Halloween is my favorite holiday and you will love it at Disneyland that time of year! Here are just a few pics of some of the many great decorations that are all over the parks. (if you want to check them out)

The official disneyland podcast actually has a great video on the halloween decorations- both the audio and the video editions. Check 'em out. And if you google Disneyland Halloweentown or halloween treat you will find lots of pics.

Yep, Gay Days does effect the crowd levels. We went last year and it was pretty busy. Not filled to capacity busy, but busy. It was very managable if you figured your time right. We had a blast..

I believe Bat Day (or something like that?) is in early October too?

I went last year and was there for gay days/ columbus day..... I think it was more crowded for c-day then gay days cause all the gay-days people were supposto where colored shirts or something like that... and i didn't see to many... or to many same sex peep kissing :lovestruc ;) ....... Halloween was fun, we walked through DLH and PPH and GC and they didn't have any halloween stuff up just the parks... but it is fun mickey and everyone have there halloween outfits on!!!

Again - thanks for all the replies !

I'm off to check out the pictures now :)
