Early October Dining booking issues?

Ugggggghhhh!!! So what's considered a "special booking"? WOC packages? F! packages? Character dining?
I'm trying to book a Fantasmic! dinner for Oct.3,4,5,6 or 7.
If Fantasmic! is only on the weekends then I have two nights, the 3rd and 4th.

I have been able to book Carnation cafe and Cafe Orleans during the week. Just not the Fantasmic! BB dinner.

Also trying to book fantasmic for 4th, Woc for for 6th and surfs up for morning 5th. Frustrating!

I check twice/day just to see. It's really frustrating. I get why they wouldn't want to duplicate work in case of a mistake, but it's taking a little longer than it should take. I guess the decision maker is on holidays?

Very frustrating! We are going similar time frame (September 28-October 3). Have made reservations at Plaza Inn for morning of the 10/2 at 9:10am (earliest could do - though says breakfast starts at 8:10am). So I assume park would be opening by 8 or 9. Earliest could make breakfast reservations at Carnation Cafe on 9/29 is at 10:10am, so perhaps the park doesn't open till 10am (says breakfast hours start at 10am)? But last year on the Tuesday it opened at 8am, with MM at 7am, so who knows.... :worried:

We were able to book Plaza Inn for the morning of the 29th and the earliest booking they had available was 8:10am (which is still showing on the DL site as of right now), indicating a 9:00am opening, so it seems a little strange that Carnation wouldn't have anything until 10:10!

I had the same thought.. strange that the earliest Plaza Inn was 9:10am... What I had done when booking was choose the restaurant and then choose "breakfast" as the time. It told me 9:10am was earliest. I booked that, then later, after thinking about it, went back in and clicked 8:00 am instead of "breakfast" and got the 8:10 am reservation. If that doesn't make any sense, let me know and I'll try to explain better.

Thank you!! I cancelled our 9:10 reservation and scheduled a 8:10 reservation. Funny thing is, I had called in to make that reservation and the CM told me 9:10 was the earliest. o_O

I'm checking big about four times a day. As soon as one of us posts that they've had success we'll on be on it x

That's the one I'm trying to nail too, preferably Sunday 4th, and is the only one I'm worried about due to the limited days it is offered.

Fantasmic will only be on 1 night (24th October) out of the 10 day we'll be at Disneyland as the Halloween Parties are falling on Friday and Sunday night that week. I hope I can grab that booking as I have never seen Fantasmic and I probably wont be back at DL for a long long time.

It appears there are a few of us trying for Fantasmic! booking on October 4th.
We can have a little DisBoard party while we wait for the show.

My first choice is Fantasmic! BB dinner for the first showing that evening. With the plan to watch the fireworks from there too.
Which date and package are others trying for?

We are hoping for rbt as I'm a picky eater. I love the location of bb but there's not much on the menu for me and it's more expensive. Don't mind which showing.

I'm still debating on Oct 4th. I haven't booked flights yet, since by the time Disney released the MHP date, the airfare rates were higher. It's cheaper to fly home on Monday, but then that means another night in the hotel. Ahh, decisions, decisions. This will be our list trip for quite a while, so I'm thinking we will want to see Fantasmic one last time. What to do... what to do...

I am also going to try for an October 4 booking at BB and stay to watch fireworks! Maybe we'll see you there, Geemo! I'm so anxious to get this booked! I think I am driving my husband crazy. :donald:

We're retired and generally don't set an alarm for anything.
Well since the 60 day mark (Aug 6th) my alarm has gone off at 6:50am so I can check online and also call to book.
Each time the CM says.... No go.
After 42years, my husband knows I'm the crazy one. He will be happy when Disney finally opens the schedule for booking and I can turn the alarm off.

See you there if I'm successful in booking!

Not sure if any of you have visited the DL website over yesterday or today but the Parks Hours calendar is now completely empty! It previously had hours listed all the way up to September 26. So yeah something funky is definitely going on while they try to figure out park hours for the fall.

I'm going September 29-October 2 and it's definitely frustrating not having everything available yet! :worried:

I noticed that too this morning! Grrr. We are going to be at the parks Oct 1-3 and the hours *should* be up by the end of this week , but now they seem stalled on Sept 26......it must be all tied in to the dining and fireworks/parade/halloween schedules but annoying nonetheless. I should suck it up though as I am one of the lucky ones able to get all the dining ressies we wanted since we leave on Oct 3.

I spoke with a Dine Line CM this afternoon who was very sympathetic. She said that they've been told that this is a very big scheduling problem because of the 60th and all the parties, holidays, big event weekends, etc. Once again, they've been told that the seating inventory should be up this week. She advised that I keep checking online every day and call as soon as I saw the info was available so I could ask my questions. Sigh.

Is it possible that the inventory is being held back because something will change and that the dining reservation agents honestly don't know about it. Didn't something similar happen before the F! dining packages announcement? I'm just speculating, but with PTN and fireworks running every night, maybe they haven't figured out their F! and WOC schedule yet.

So I will join the chorus of frustration regarding dining! I'm so glad I found this thread too. We are WDW veterans also going on our first trip 10/14-10/19 and I'm getting antsy! I want to mainly book BB F! also. Maybe since the D23 Expo happened recently they are planning some BIG ANNOUNCEMENT OR SURPRISE that we will all find out about!:yay:
