Early October Dining booking issues?

I want to yell at someone but there is no one to yell at!
I would not actually yell. I would be polite yet clearly irritated.
How hard can it be?? The place has been open for what, 60 years or something?

Call them up and ask to speak to Mickey asap! I need to book my BB dining package pronto!

Still not available I see, sigh

Quick question: Do you have to stay at the Disneyland Hotel/Grand Californian to go to Steakhouse 55/Napa Rose? I had always been under the impression that you did and live too close to DL to stay at their hotels so I've never even tried to make reservations at either one. But I've heard from some friends that you don't have to stay at the hotels to eat there. Anyone know?

Should be open to anyone, not just hotel guests.

Still no luck this morning. October 3 appears to be the farthest out for booking some dinner meals in the parks. Double sigh.

I checked too but I kinda figured Monday would be earliest cause I expect tptb don't work weekends x

Calling doesn't do much good. I've called a couple of times already and if you can't book it online, you won't be able to book the reservation over the phone either. This morning, the park hours appear to have been updated through 10/3. What I think is going on is that they aren't letting anyone make breakfast or dinner reservations if the restaurant is IN one of the parks...and that you won't be able to make your reservation until the official park hours become available.

I was able to make lunch reservations at Blue Bayou, though.

That all makes sense.....but why then is the character breakfast at PP unavailable for booking in October?

This is really starting to get ridiculous. We're almost three weeks out from when ADRs for 10/4 should have been available - what's the hold up? They know what their hotel bookings look like in October, in all likelihood, which should allow them to figure out what time to open in the mornings. They know what days they are doing MHP so they know when the park is closing those nights.....are they really struggling that hard to decide when to close on non-MHP nights? If so, maybe someone needs to be replaced...

Has anything like this ever happened before?

Still NOTHING!!!! as of a few minutes ago...

Disney may not have the technology to get it together to book a reservation past Oct 3rd.....
But they do know how to change/update the Disney Dining phone message.

They've added a one liner to the voice message regarding the NO BOOKING after October 3rd
The message part to check and call back daily......... Yah.. right.... That's all WE have been doing since the 60 day mark.

Funny I haven't been asked to do one of those surveys at the end of a call lately.

side note un-related
Last night we went for Chinese, yum... My fortune cookie message was perfect!
"You will soon be traveling to a distant land." Oh my.. It's right..

Since I hit my 60 days tomorrow, it's time for me to plug in and make sense of this.

Is it a problem with all dining reservations or just special packages?

Geemo-
Thanks for the update! at least they are acknowledging the problem? I'm still hoping this works out on our favor - maybe longer hours, more show times...
Counting down and would like to have a game plan for our trip!

Maybe there's some potential for at least October 3rd opening today - I've been checking for BB Fantasmic for the 4th and this is the first time the 3rd has even been clickable! No times, so I still don't think it's loaded, but maybe it is progress toward them working this out soon? Just thought I'd share the glimmer of hope that maybe this infuriating wait would soon be over!

Thanks for the updates everyone! At this point, I'm hoping we actually get the reservations that we want. They've put it off for so long that I have a feeling the system will be totally swamped once they finally do open up the dates. This is our first visit Disneyland, so I'm hoping we get to do (most) everything we have planned! Fingers crossed!

This is driving me mad. We're now less than 40 days out. What are they waiting for?

I was able to get a reservation at BB for Oct 22nd. But wasn't for Minnie and Friends, RBT or WCT dining packages. Yet, WCT non-WoC reservations are available. It's as if they are only having problems with anything that really matters or is more than just a meal (character breakfast, Fantasmic or World of Color packages). Very frustrating. These are anchor events to our vacation.

...Do you have to stay at the Disneyland Hotel/Grand Californian to go to Steakhouse 55/Napa Rose?
No, staying onsite is not required to dine at either restaurant.
Napa Rose will validate valet parking at the Grand Californian, making dining more convenient to offsite and local guests.
