Early May Crowds

We have always gone to DL in early February because we like the off season low crowds. This year we are considering early May instead. What are the crowds usually like during the week in early May?

Usually it's a perfect time to go. Low crowds and warm sunshine. The three hotels do not usually offer good AP rates though, I have noticed that as we always go during that time. We enjoy the F&W events at DCA. It runs from the end of April to the end of May. Someone mentioned Bat's Day is that weekend, if so that might impact crowds a little. Have a great trip.

Sorry - F&W is Disneyland's mini version of Florida's Food and Wine Festival. There are free food/beverage seminars with samples as well as paid events and fancy meals with wine sponsored by various wineries. Famous chefs are abound. They have the sample size foods for sale - many gourmet. Anyway, it's a fun time and since we usually drink on and off all day, we always stay the night. It's only at DCA so maybe DL is a little less crowded now that I think about it!

Wow look at my typos. That is DH and my birthdays. So much for going for our birthdays though. He has to work or has a bicycle race. Yipee.

We have gone the second week of May and it was great! Low crowds and great weather! Only problem is that since it isn't a very busy time there will not be fireworks unless it is the weekend. Just keep that in mind.

Hi there, we are going from may 2-12th....the 10th is my daughters 18th....my plan was to be there from the 8th to the 18th ( my fortieth is on the 16th ) but my inlaws 50th is that day also, so we have to be back for their party....this trip is to celebrate my daughters birthday and that she is gradding in june(she is actually bringing 3 friends who have never been)....we were there in 06 in may and the weather and crowds were perfect....i cannot wait for this trip....have fun

I was there in may 06 too and you are right...it was wonderful! We are trying out the first week of june this year as it has been sometime since I went in june. Hoping it's still okay then also. From what I remember we went in june every year because it wasn't too crowded but nice and warm.

Good! I'm planning also to go back and the beginning of May is the first it will fit in my schedule! Glad to know it wont be too crowded then.

My son's b-day is May 2nd too! We are planning on going that week, not sure if that weekend if it's going to be Bats Day, we'd like to avoid any events for crowd reasons. May have to tweak our dates a bit!
