We just finalized our trip for Jan 1-Jan 8th.

What is everyone's experience getting ADRs for this time? With them recently changing the date to 180 days prior, it seems almost as if I have waited until the last minute! ;)

Has anyone else made ADRs for this first week of January? If so: are they full, plenty of empty space...what?

The last time we went there wasn't even a dining plan....but there isn't a free dining promo for this time period....I just can't figure out how necessary ADRs will be. :confused3

Thanks!

I just booked our trip for the same week yesterday and the only ADR I have made so far is lunch at CRT and those were slim pickings except for one day of our trip. We are still deciding what other three TS restaurants we want to go to and I will make ADRs there just for peace of mind.

We are going the same time.

As said, only CRT was tough. We actually wanted dinner, but it was plum full, so we settled on lunch. We'll probably call closer to the day to see if we can switch it, if any cancellations pop up.

That being said, our ressies at Le Cellier, Sci Fi, and Marrakesh have been slam bam wide open, any time we wanted.

-other than a character meal, and Cindy's, I think you'll be fine. The January crowd is pretty thin.

We'll be there January 1 - 8 also. I got ADR's at Le Cellier, LTT, O'Hanas, Sci-Fi and Tony's. All were available at the times I wanted.

We got ours (01/05-01/11). I have even changed them 3 or 4 times and had no problems with the times I wanted. I really needed to adjust our schedule, but was afraid of losing Le Cellier. I called today and had no problem getting a new ADR!

Yeah, but what will you be wearing? ;-)

But seriously, I often go in January, and PS are helpful inside the parks for lunch, even if made just the day before. For example, there's often a pretty good wait if one tries to do a walk-up at the SciFi, even though it's not especially popular with DISers. And for popular places like LeCellier, they're definitely helpful - the sooner the better.

On the other hand, during January you can almost always walk in and get a seating at Restuarant Marrakesh, or the Coral Reef. In part I think it's because both these places are somewhat out of the way, and won't generate as much "hey, take a look, let's eat here" traffic.
