Our flight home is on a Wednesday at 6am. I think I read that ME picks us up 3 hours before our flight? So in order to NOT be picked up at 3am...should we take a taxi, a limo service, or what??? Am I correct in remembering the airport is around 45 minutes from WDW? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!!

MCO is about 25 - 35 minutes away. For a 6am flight, you should aim to be to MCO between 4 and 430. Meaning you should leave your resort around 330-345 or so.

Honestly, I would just do DME....30 minutes extra sleep is not worth cab fare.

That early I would think about staying at the MCO Hyatt.

I agree with both of the previous posters. Either stick with Magical Expess or stay at the airport hotel overnight. You really won't save much time by using a cab or car service. Plus the secuity lines can be horrible for the early morning flights, so you don't want to cut it too close. You will also have to check in at the airport, as you won't be able to use Resort Airline Check-in.

Either stay at the airport overnight or use Magical Express. Don't waste your money on a cab or towncar.

If you cut your WDW stay short by one night to stay at the Hyatt as suggested, you can still use Magical Express to the airport. Just give them a flight time about 3 hours after you want to get to the hotel.

Just had a similar situation with early AM flight and we decided to stay at Hyatt the night before and just elevator down a few floors that early in the morning rather than do ME or even taxi (which would run about $60). I used Last Minute Travel about 3 weeks before our trip and got Hyatt for $128.....LMT doesn't tell you the hotel until after you've purchased, however, when looking for MCO hotels simply put in a higher star rating (I think the Hyatt may be a 4 not sure) and then look at the hotel descriptions/photos provided....it's easy to tell which is the Hyatt because one of photos shown very clearly shows a runway view in the background of one of the room views. We requested ME to MCO from BWV (where we stayed) for 8:30 pm the evening before our flight......and simply made sure we arrived back at BWV bell services to collect our stored baggage before boarding the ME bus. The only drawback using this method is the fact that you cannot check your bags at your WDW hotel the evening before but will need to take them to the airport with you and check them with your airline in the morning. I didn't find that to be a problem at all.......I checked the inside Airtran counter first.....the line was quite long (at 5:00 a.m.!!) so I just walked outside to curbside check-in and walked right up to the counter.

I agree you won't be saving much time by not using ME.

We had a car service last weekend and he still picked us up 2.5 hours before our flight. He let me choose, but the shortest time I would have said was 2 hours, but he recommended a bit earlier.

So I think you might as well take ME.

We took ME at 3 am. Got to the airport, waited in quite a line to get through security (even at that time of the morning), ate a decent breakfast and got on our plane. It's not like you have that much time that you're really wasting time at the airport.

There is a reason DME picks you up 3 hours before your flight.

You need all that time.

Security is regularly 30 mins+ (and longer in the early morning) and once you get to your terminal/gate area, you can have a leisurely breakfast and just hang out until your flight is ready to leave.

If you want to get an extra hour of sleep, stay at the Hyatt.
