Early EMH vs Late EMH at MK

My family will be there the last week of December. MK hours show early EMH (one hour early) one day and evening EMH (midnight-2am) on another day. Which day would be better? We probably won't stay all the way until 2AM though.

It really depends on your family. I expect that early EMH will be at 7 am (if park hours aren't already at 8 am regular opening, they will be). Can your family get up and out to the bus by 6:00-6:30 am? If so, that first hour is magical and even from 8-9:30 or so will be pretty good.

On the late EMH, the later you stay, the better it gets. Most people are like you and cannot stay until 2 am, but they can stay until midnight or 12:30, so the park is still fairly crowded until then. It's that last hour-hour and a half that are golden.

this. exactly! the EMH until midnight will still be pretty busy, but later than that will be much better! Just don't try to do very late EMH one night and plan to hit early am EMH the next day lol.

As others have said, evening emh's are great but only if you can stay well past midnight. We enjoy the evening hours, but find the morning to be much more productive for us.

Productivity wise id say morning hours are definitely the way to go. You can get most if not all of the headliners out of the way within that one hour. But my wife enjoy the feeling the park has at night. For us it just comes alive that much more when its past midnight and its just really a special atmosphere in my opinion.

I agree with PPs who said it depends on your family, as it truly does. My family/friends/boyfriend and I are all night owls and we LOVE staying until they throw us out at night! We would never make it to morning EMH to successfully get things done. We are all up early at home for work so we "sleep in" a bit at Disney, and just hang out as late as the parks will let us. We find we get a ton done at night because lots of people drop off by about 12-12:30am. I also love the different perspective you get of some rides at night, like BTMRR, Splash, and TTA. If you can hang, I would say night EMH!!

I prefer early EMH. We went to MK last Thanksgiving at 7am. Even on that crowded day, we got a TON of stuff done in that first hour. Late EMH is just too late for my family.

Years ago, we stayed offsite during Christmas week, when EVERY morning was EMH, and got to the gates in time for our 8 a.m. opening. We were able to do quite a bit, and we couldn't even take advantage of being there the hour before! Not many want to wake up that early :)

Mornings are good if you want to hit the headliners once with short waits. Nights are better if you're looking for multiple re-rides.

Much prefer early EMH to late EMH. We like getting up early and then get a good nights sleep and then be ready for another early EMH or at opening of different park. Tried late EMH at MK,Epcot,HS and in each case our experience was more enjoyable early EMH than late.

You need to use the last hour of an MK EMH for it to be worthwhile.
