We are going to WDW in 11 days!! For a party of 8 only time we could all sit together at CP was at 4:15 PM. We're a little nervous about eating dinner so early.

Have you tried calling back recently to see if later times were open? We were scheduled to eat at 4:30 (also a party of 8) and when I called back about 25 days out (we leave in 12 days) they offered me a 5:50 PM which I thought was better. 4:15 is pretty early. My group would be starving again by 8:30 or 9

Have any of you done Crystal Palace before? My missus (30-something years old!!) wants to meet Eeyore, so I'm thinking of booking for dinner there. Is it any good?

dynomite100. Have had dinner there and have enjoyed it. A great variety of food and desserts. The character interaction was wonderful. I am 30 something myself and love seeing Pooh and friends. We have a PS for breakfast next month and cannot wait. :goodvibes

As for the early dinner. You can always have a snack around the 9 o'clock hour. However with all the food choices, you may not even be hungry.

You can keep checking for later times.

But if you dont get it, it is an all you can eat meal (I believe), so even eating early, you can eat your fill.

And you can always snack & stuff later if you get hungry again.

My friend and I were at Disney in March/April. We are 24 and love the characters at the Crystal Palace. When my family went to Disney as a kid we always at there. Yum, yum, yum! :)

I would keep the 4:15 -- just do the light early lunch. I love doing the character meals right after they open especially with a large group -- the seating is easier and you are going to get the character rotation right when it starts out - makes it much nicer than having to wait a lot longer to see them all.

Also with the restaurant just beginning to fill up the trip to the buffet is much easier in my opinion too.

Thanks for the feedback, Lisa. Any more from you guys out there would be much appreciated. I'm just a DIS virgin.

Carl.

PS Love the Eeyore icon, Lisa.

Thanks for the advice. I called today only other time they has was 7:30 PM. Youngest DDers usually go to bed at 8:30. Kept what we had. Thought that time would be too late. I feel better about it. I have never eaten at CP before so I didn't really know what to expect. I'm sure it will work out great. I hadn't thought about the benefits of eating early that were mentioned. We can always eat a snack later that night. I have been reading about some yummy ice cream sandwiches.

I totally agree!! We ate there at 4:30 one night and it was the best meal of our trip. The restaurant was practically empty and the food was fresh and hot!! Characters spent a lot of time with us and we refilled our plates many times without standing in any lines. Plus it was nice to have dinner behind us so we could enjoy MK uninterrupted by meal time!! When everyone else was eating dinner we were riding rides!! I'd definitely keep your 4:15.

We were at MK in March/April and had a PS for Crystal Palace @ 4:00 pm. We thought that time was great! The food was fantastic and so were the characters. It wasn't too busy, so we could take our time and really enjoy the atmosphere. After all the food and desserts we were full for the evening. I think the kids had an ice cream after Wishes while we waited for the crowds to thin out. I think you will enjoy the early dinner especially with little ones. Have fun...say hi to Tigger for me.! ;)

take care
Karen
