Hi
Can any of you guys help me with a question I now have as a result of looking on some of the US threads

A lot of people were complaining that there was no availability at the WDW hotels why was this

The answer appears to be because of a number of annual events taking place

!) Mousefest!!! An annual event for Disney fans
2) Some sort event Pop........!

I booked early December as I was advised this is when there were fairly low crowds (by Disney standards anyway) does anyone know anything about this or has experienced first hand what it is actually like at the House of Mouse

From a now slightly concerned traveller!

Although I have never been in early December, like you I was always under the impression crowds were not too bad at all the first couple of weeks - so I am not sure?

I could be panicing for no reason but its always good to make sure

I suppose its just we forfeited the nicer weather for the lower crowds with a hint of christmas spirit!!!

I think you are referring to Pop Warner. Have been twice when this is on - it's cheerleading competitions. We were at *** one year and Dixie the next time and there were loads of girl groups around - it made the hotel busy but not so much the parks. One thing - Indianna Jones wasn't on as they used the statium fot Pop.
Hope this calms the nerves :thumbsup2

Hi
We went to disney last week in nov and first in december last year and had no trouble at all.The resorts are a bit busier but the longest we waited for the rides was a epcot and thay was for soarin and test track and with that only waited 30 mins without fastpass.
we are going next thurs 23rd for 15 nights staying at pop and carribbean beach as getting married on the 30th.All the rest of the parks we literally walked on the rides with maybe the occasinal 15 mins wait so I would n't worry too much.Is this your first trip?
Have a great time :woohoo: :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

We've been several times the first two weeks in Dec and have noticed that each time we go it's a little bit busier. I think it's because word has got around that this is a great time to go and so more and more people are going each year!

You will be fine!

When we went in December 2004 there was lots of gossip / rumour on the US forums about how busy it would be in the parks due to Pop Warner and room availability, but guess what? It was absolutely deserted in the parks. I'm sure it will be the same for you in early December too :thumbsup2

Exactly the same as what I was going to say. We were also there the same week in 2004 and while you did see groups of youngsters about the parks the queues for rides were not bad at all and we very rarely had to use fastpass. I alos remember all the panic on the boards but it really wan't a problem.

Have fun and enjoy! :)

We are off next Thursday so i hope it is quite. We picked Dec for our wedding as all the xmas decorations are up and because its usually pretty quite!

we got married a'la Disney in Nov 2004 (Sunset Pointe at the Polynesian) - it was all I imagined and some!

You'll have a totally fabulous time....

We are due to fly Dec 1st and can't wait. As for the cheerleaders being in the parks I'll just have to grin and bear it! :thumbsup2 I am sure my wife will understand?? :furious:

we had squads of cheerleaders at pop century a few years back, (wasnt December like, must have been some other competition) and it was hellish!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :rotfl: i am still married though, JUST! :rotfl:

You might want to look into mousefest - don't think most events cost anything and there can be interesting opportunities like treasure hunts and hidden mickey expeditions. Not sure what is happening this year but I have partaken in the past - I love the first couple of weeks of December as a time to go!

I think most of the events take place at the sports complex, so it is a couple of resorts that are busy during this time.

We have been the first 2 weeks in December & had a fantastic time. It's worth visiting every Disney Resort ("hotel" to us Brits) to see the decorations. Each resort has a different theme and each one is magical. We also have a theory that Disney do not allow the parks to get extremely quiet any more. In quieter times when we have been they tend to run less cars etc on each ride so it seems busier than it is. I would think this is to cut down on the number of cm's required. Also a lot of refurbs are done off peak so not all rides will be open. At the end of the day just being there is magical so enjoy every minute of your trip. :wave2:

I've always tried to indulge myself in all things American. Do you think the cheerleaders could explain what it is they do and how often they practice? :confused3 I am writing this very quickly because my wife is throwing her slippers in my direction! :thumbsup2
