DH has a CPAP machine and DS8 is Type 1 diabetic.

On our April trip, we will be staying off site for a few days and then staying at a Disney resort (CBR, I think). What I want to do is to check in and drop our luggage off at CBR on our way to the park the day we switch, and then take the bus to EPCOT. We have a rental car, I just want to park it and use Disney transportation. It will probably be around 10:00, so I don't think our room will be ready, I am just planning on leaving the luggage w/ the bell hops (or whoever keeps it until your room is ready).

I will take the insulin w/ us, as well as any supplies DS might need during the day at the park and drop it off at 1st aid. My question is about the CPAP machine and DS's other supplies. If I leave it w/ the bell hop, I'm worried it could get lost. If we leave it in the car, it could get stolen. **I think I am worrying too much!! LOL!! I do think I will divide DS's supplies into 2 bags, leaving 1 in the car and 1 w/ the bell hops, but what about the CPAP machine? Which solution would be best?

Call up your resort and ask what they allow to be stored - they might not allow valuables to be stored (I know some resorts don't, not sure about Disney - it might be different because they have the parks ppl want to go to). If they allow it, ask what their liability is on it should something happen to it (damage, loss, theft).

if you do end up dropping the stuff off, take a few photos of your bags, equipment, etc, for reference later on.

Hubby leaves his CPAP and I leave my laptop with Bell Services all the time. They have a locked cage in the Bell Services room. Ask them to put it there.

They will keep the CPAP machine and the insulin. Frankly I would just take the insulin and leave it at First Aid. I feel safer that way. DO NOT LEAVE IT IN THE CAR. The temperatures in the car can get alot higher than the actual outside temperature and will destroy the insulin.

we have never had a car when we're on property and i have stored my nebulizer with bell service and nothing has happened.
I think since ive been using my neb. ive stored it like 4 or 5 times

We can't purchase our pump supplies at a pharmacy as far as I know. I would take enough extras (a box of strips with two vials, a couple of set changes, etc) and leave the rest with the bell services if it was too hot in the car. Otherwise I'd probably take my chances leaving them in the car. We also carry an extra pump sometimes so I'd keep that on my person.

I agree with Lisbet: Insulin + hot care= epic fail. I was a CM for Disney and have never heard of us losing somebody's luggage when they checked in. The CMs are incredibly diligent. If you are nervous, I would write to guest relations now and ask what can be done. Perhaps if you are going during the off season when it is likely not all the rooms are in use they will actually let you into your room early. It's certainly worth a shot. I'm sure they can come up with some kind of solution for you.

If you go to www.waltdisneyworld.com and click on "Contact Us" there is a form you can fill out. Otherwise you can try calling guest information at (407) 939-6244.

Thanks for the responses!!

I think we will probably leave the CPAP and some diabetic supplies w/ Bell Services. I will definatly take the insulin w/ us and leave it at 1st aid. We will actually be doing that every day in case we were to have to change DS's pump at the park. I think I will also keep 1/2 DS's supplies in the car, just to be on the safe side. DH could live w/out his CPAP, but DS can't live w/out his supplies.

I am glad to hear the positive comments about Bell Services. I don't remember hearing anything one way or the other. It's good to hear others have had good experiences w/ them.

Thanks again!!! This is our first Disney trip since DS has been diabetic, so we are still figuring some things out. We have been to Busch Gardens Wmsburg twice since he was diagnosed, (one time when it was 100 degrees!!) and things went very well there...his sugars were good the whole time and the pump did fine on the rollar costers he rode. (He did all but the 2 biggest ones, he will probably do everything at DW except RNR.) I am just hoping that things stay that way w/ this being a week long trip.
