We hope to arrive at our resort 1 to 2 hours early. Do they often let people check in early? It would be wonderful to start our Disney vacation early.:beach:

Yes. I've checked in as early as 8AM. You check in, get your packet, park tix, DDP credits if you're on Dining Plan, etc. If your room isn't ready, you can leave your luggage with Bell Service and head out to the parks. They will text you when your room is ready.

Honestly it's going depend in a few things. What time of the year you are going, will it be during peak, regular or off season, what type of room requests you have and how many rooms you have. I've almost always been able to check in early except when we had 2 rooms. I got a separate room for my friend and my teenage daughters. Because I still wanted them close it took longer. 1 time when we went when it was busy at the hotel we were staying at. Final time we had to wait for our "Pirate Room" betting checking in early for the PrIncess rooms will be non existent. We typically go 4-6 times a year so you can check in and have your room ready. Best of luck, definitely check in online we've done it 6 times every time room was ready.

There's a difference between checking in early and getting into your room early. :)

You can check in anytime after 7 AM, but your room might not be available until later in the day. As Sue M mentioned, you can check in early, leave your luggage with bell services, then go to the parks or do whatever you want to enjoy your day.

. . . You can check in anytime after 7 AM . . .

1) Actually, 6:00am.
. . . the computers change to the next day at 2:00am
. . . but, no check-ins until 6:00am
. . . they don't want people to use 2:00-6:00 as a free day
. . . you know, check in and get a few hours sleep
. . . then hit the parks
. . . previously, lots have tried it
2) As other mentioned, sometimes your room is ready at 6:00am.
3) If so, go and freshen-up before the day.
4) If not ready, change clothes in rest room and go to breakfast.
. . . eateries open at 7:00am
. . . but, grab-and-go at some eateries open at 6:30am
. . . of course, the Gasparilla Grill at GF is open 24-hrs
5) Then, go to parks.

As mentioned earlier, check-in time can differ from when your room is ready. I have had mixed luck over the years, but many times had a room ready when I checked-in, sometimes 5 hours or more before the "offical" check-in time. So go with the hope, but not expectation of being able to do so. A lot depends on how busy the resort was the day before you check in, that is if many rooms are all clean and ready and waiting to be assigned. At busy times of the year when other guests have just checked out and the rooms have to be cleaned, it is less likely. Also, times the room was not ready, I was given a phone number to call to check on the room availablilty so you knew whether to head back. We also keep bathing suits and lotion accessible in case you want to just hang at the resort's pool while waiting. Good luck!
