EARLY CHECK IN: December 15th, 2007 - Seven night Western - 12/15/07

Hi again. DD needed the computer earlier and I could only post my holiday greetings.

We're currently at my parents' home. We'll be leaving Thursday to go back to our home. We left on 12/13 and I'll be glad to sleep in my own bed again.

We drove straight to Epcot after disembarking. We got there around 10 am. John's first ride was Figment. We got to do Soarin', Living with the Land, Turtle Talk, Nemo and Friends. I think they did a few other things while I tended to John. Rachel also did a few of the Kidcot Funstops. At Turtle Talk, Crush asked Rachel who brought her and then spoke to her parental unit, me. He thought I was so cool when I answered one of his questions, "Totally Awesome".

We had lunch at Garden Grill. John loved the characters. Dale tickled him and made him giggle. We left Epcot at 7:30 b/c we were all tired and wanted to hit MK early the next morning.

MK was crowded, but we actually got to do much of what we wanted without much of a wait. We did Small World first. I think it was John's favorite. He took in the scenery and danced with the music. We did Pooh, Peter Pan, Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas, TTA, Space Ranger Spin, Pirates. I know they did tea cups and a few other things while I tended to John. We saw Spectromagic and Wishes. We ate lunch at the Wispering Canyon Cafe. Santa was in the lobby at Wilderness Lodge. John cried hysterically when David sat him on Santa's knee. I'll post a pic after we get home. We left MK at 10:30 and arrived in Kingsland, GA at 1:30.

Monday morning we drove the remaining 5 hours to my parents'. John slept most of the way, thankfully, and we only stopped once.

I'm glad everyone got home safely. It was so nice meeting everyone. I look forward to reading about everyone's experiences and seeing pictures. Have a great day. :santa:

Please don't leave me here to talk to myself. Now that we've met each other, I thought this board would be hopping.

We're finally in our own home. All of our luggage and such is still in the van. I dread going through everything. The good news is that I did some :laundy: at my mom's.

I think Maggie and John are most happy to be home in a familiar environment. John remembers that he can open the cabinets. Tomorrow David will be putting magnetic locks on them.

I hope everyone is well. Someone please come talk to me!!:upsidedow

Susan - Thank you for the little bride handbook! It is a good reminder about the little things :D

Hi Melissa...thanks for coming out to play!! You're welcome for the book. I know you've done many of the things already. I'm glad I found it for you. Please keep us updated on your wedding. How many days until the big day? I cannot wait to see pictures.

Are you going to do a trip report for the cruise? I'm thinking of doing one b/c I know moms with young children have lots of questions about what to expect. I'm just not as creative a writer as many of the trip reporters.

Susan

We can't have you talking to yourself. We had a busy couple of days. What did Rachel end up getting from Santa? Laura got her Jackson, her AG doll Nicki's horse and an outfit for her doll. She says to tell Rachel hi.

Monday we slept in then drove up to the in-laws house for a couple of days before going to my DS house and having Christmas with my family. We planned to leave DD with my A and U and go to midnight mass but after several late nights and early mornings DH and I couldn't make it that late so ended up going Christmas morning.

We had a nice quite Christmas at home with my parents and Aunt and Uncle. However by dinner time however DD was runing a fever and was sick the past two day.

I went in to the office on the 26th. I was acting boss for the day over a staff of one, myself. It made for a very quiet day. I stayed home today with Laura who still wasn't feeling good and even though DH was home she wanted her mama. I think she's finally feeling better

Hi Patty. I'm glad Laura is feeling better. John has a stuffy nose and is a bit congested. It's not slowing him down though.

Rachel got Nicki, Nicki's service dog, and her Gala outfit. It's nice getting only 3 Santa gifts. It also makes it easier to transport.

We've done one load of laundry and unpacked some things. Tomorrow will be for finishing up and cleaning. At least we don't have to take down our Christmas decorations.

Has anyone re-booked? We talked to them the last day of the cruise about re-booking. The system was down, so they told us they'd call sometime this week. I made sure David got the CM's name. So far we haven't received a phone call. We're looking at a 4-day in September 2009. John will be 2.5 and hopefully potty trained. We're trying to talk my parents into going. We're also going to get a category 6 so when I'm stuck in the room with John, I can still enjoy the ocean. We'll do another 7 day when John is 5 or so.

We're currently watching UNC beat Nevada. Go Tar Heels!!

Susan - 6 more weeks until the wedding. Almost all ready. On Christmas, Shaun's mom made the measurements to fix my dress but luckily there wasn't much work that needed to be done and once that is done, I'm going to ship the dress to my mother in Florida for her to have it steamed since she is actually able to let it air out and not stay boxed up like I would have to here in MA.

Shaun & I will prolly do a cruise sometime in 2009. I'm thinking of doing the October 24th, 2009 cruise but I'm not entirely sure yet. I don't think I will do a Cat 11 again since it definitely messed with my internal clock without the sun there to help wake us up. All my vacation time is claimed for 2008 so we know we can't do it then.

Christmas here was good. Shaun wasn't a fan of how everything we got this year was stuff off our registry so it wasn't any fun for him, but he knew we needed the stuff so he isn't too whiny. He did get enough money between Christmas & his birthday to buy himself a new computer though so that made up for it.

I've been sick, hence why I"m up now since I went to bed at like 5pm and now I can't go back to sleep. I'm hoping I will be able to in about an hour or so.

It's so nice to see Disney Cruise Line on the caller ID:banana: We tried to rebook on board the last day, but the system was down. They called today. We booked a category 6 for a 4-day on the Wonder. They assigned us to 6562. My parents decided to go with us, so we're looking at changing to adjoining rooms. David's parents will let us know if they want to come too. I'm so excited to have another cruise to look forward to:cheer2:

Melissa...6 weeks, that will go by in a flash. Please keep us updated on everything.

Cristi...where is your photo? I enjoyed seeing it everytime I opened this page.

Well, back to :laundy:

DCL called us today as well...we booked a eastern for july of 2009. :cool1:

For those who've been on the eastern...any tips??

6562 was our room on the magic...it's a great location. But then again...I don't think there's a bad room on either ship...the trick is just being on board :yay:

Congratulations on re-booking. Did you get the same room?

I was thinking that 6562 was your room. I saw your stateroom report. I think we're going to stick to that side of the ship. We'd keep that room, but we want adjoining rooms. Maybe David's parents can get that room and we'll take the next two adjoining.

In the cruise trip reports section, the title is "One Is Not Enough! Back-2-Back on the Magic-12/1 & 12/8 (Updated 12/27: Completed!)" Their information on the Eastern is very good. Have a great trip.

Hey All!
Sorry for not posting. We had a good Christmas. We had my parents over Christmas eve and went to church with them, then went to their house on Christmas day. I woke up the 26th with the stomach flu and didn't get out of bed. DD has it today. I was thinking we got it from Andy but my Mom said today that my Dad had it Christmas day and didn't tell anyone.
Who knows but it was no fun.

Andy got a wagon from Santa. He loves to walk behind it and pushes it into the walls and furniture. I had ordered him a Playskool MP3 player too. When we got home it had been delivered. I opened the box and it was pink instead of blue. I was not happy. The blue one came today, a little late for Christmas but at least he's little and doesn't know the difference.

Susan--I see that you've already got your sig updated with a new picture. I haven't got that far yet. Did your picture of John and Andy turn out? The one DD took we all four have red eyes, I'll have to fix it and send it to you.

We had requested some quotes onboard for 2009. I finally called yesterday because I didn't want to get lost in the system. Our friends that we cruised with in March want to do the 3-day Wonder right before Thanksgiving. It is cheap but I don't know about a 3-day. If we stayed on for the following 4-day cruise it is double the price. I think we might just book something and then move it around.

I don't know about a trip report yet. I loved the beach we went to in Cozumel and wasn't going to share it with anyone so that when I went back it would still be a beautiful quiet beach. Is that wrong?

Patty--Hope Laura feels better soon. I got some great pics of you guys at the sailaway party. I'll try to send them to you this weekend.

Talk to you all later.

Hi guys! Sorry I haven't been around, but I have been sick. Stacie, you probably caught the stomach bug from Andy. Rachel had that on Saturday too and then on Christmas Day later in the day, Brad came down with it too. I am hoping that nobody else gets it. I got a sore throat Christmas day and it really hurt on the 26th. I am feeling a little better, but I think it is going to turn into a cough.
Michael, we did the Eastern two years ago and LOVED it!!!!. On St. Marteen we just took a water taxi to Great Bay Beach and then on St. Thomas we did the Doubloon Sail and Snorkel. That was lots of fun, but beware of the pier when you get off. :)

Talk to you later. After I upload my pics to photobucket I will post a link.

Thanks for the tip on the trip reports board... 6562 was already booked so we'll be right next door in 6560 this time.

We're looking forward to it...2009 seems so far off though. Hope everyone is feeling better...everyone here has been fighting colds as well :upsidedow

Great sunset pic...looking forward to seeing some of your others as well

Hi everyone. Stacie and Cristi...love the pictures. My pictures of Andy and John have red eyes too. the only picture I've uploaded is the new signature. I'll work on posting some later.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. We've got one more Christmas activity with David's brother.:santa:

DCL called us today too. Unfortunately it was not to book another cruise but to let us know that they had found Laura's dress black shoes. We noticed they were missing when we went to get her dressed for Christmas mass. DH was in charge of packing all the shoes in the bag with his scuba stuff - he failed at his one job. Not only did he miss her dress shoes but her pink princess shoes and one pink sandel. We hadn't missed the princess shoes yet but I knew we were missing the sandel but wasn't too worried as they were getting to small anyway. All five missing shoes should be in the mail to us next week.

We are still deciding on what our next big vacation will be. Our ten year aniversary is on Thanksgiving Day next year and we may try and do something then. We may do another DCL cruise in 2009. If we do we will probably try and get the same room. We were in 2070, a great location for a cat 9.

It sounds like a bug's been going around. At least we were all healthy for the cruise. After being fever free for over 48 hours, Laura was sick again today. After sleeping all day and a little bit of motrin she's feeling better now.

Susan - I'll try and get you some pics of Laura and Rachel later this weekend.

Stacie and Christi - have you gotten much snow this week. We had about an inch earlier in the week and then another 2 yesterday. But it looks like the Denver area got quite a bit.

Patty--
Five shoes, that's too funny. So did he pack one shoe and lose interest? Here's some pics of you guys:

We got a couple of inches of snow yesterday. They have taken the snow out of the forecast for now. DS is in Omaha this weekend on a mission trip so hopefully they are right for once.

Hope Laura gets better soon. We felt good enough tonight to go out for supper. We choose Mexican no less. Their guacamole wasn't near as good as the stuff in Cozumel though.
