EARLY CHECK IN: December 15th, 2007 - Seven night Western - 12/15/07

It's snowing here in Southern Ontario too. No papers yet, and no phone call from the TA to say so.

We're catching up on all our disney movies before the cruise and I just wanted to mention that if anyone hasn't seen Meet the Robinsons. I can definetely recommend this one. popcorn::
I even cried and it's a cartoon. :sad1: My son rolls his eyes at me everytime because his mom's gonna cry. I couldn't help it.
I'm finding it harder to convince the kids to see the older disney movies. How are they going to know all the characters on the cruise otherwise!! ? :confused3
The wait is killing me!!! 3.5 weeks more~!~:cheer2:

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

It is exciting that so many of you have got your docs, I'll be on the phone with my TA in the morning, maybe we'll take a road trip tomorrow.

Happy Thanksgiving

Susan - Laura got Nicki in June for her birthday along with one outfit. She then used her birthday money to buy another outfit and the second Nicki book. For Christmas she is asking Santa for Jackson, Nicki's horse and the accessories that go aong with it as well as one more of her outfits. She plans to bring Nicki along on the cruise.

Got to go get ready to head to my BIL and SIL for dinner. Hope every one has a good day and a safe drive home.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!! The temperature has finally dipped down to what I consider acceptable fall weather. It's hovering around the high 40s about now.

Hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable holiday.

It's a quite day here on the boards, everyone must be out shopping. Did anybody get some good bargins?

It's a slow day here in the office, just a few of us holding down the fort. Normally those of us that are here today are in charge of putting up the Christmas decorations but they haven't been delivered from the warehouse.

It was a nice and fairly quite Thanksgiving at my BIL's house. MIL is wanting us to come up either later today or sometime this weekend. I told DH that I'd rather go up this evening for a few hours than waste a weekend day. I got to much to do the next few weekends to get ready for the curise. Three weeks and three hours and were on the plane to Orlando

No bargin shopping here - I may go to Michael's tomorrow morning for the 20% off coupon for some Candy Melts/Wedding Stuff, but I'll see what I feel like doing tomorrow. I'm the only one in the office at my internship. I'm getting so much work done today though since no one else is here. I'm loving it! The only other people on-site are in another building.

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving! Ours was ok - the F-SIL's g/f's grandmother tried to change the IL's traditional Thanksgiving so there was definately a power struggle thing going on that was amusing to watch but I felt bad for my F-MIL.

Finally figured out how we're getting to the hotel/back to the airport. Luckily I still have friends down in FL that will drive us for just paying for gas so yay!

My DS & I went shopping today. We didn't by a thing. The only credit card I took with me expired last month:eek: . Saved me money. :lmao:

We went out for dinner yesterday. DS,&DH don't really care that much for turkey. We went to OLd Country Buffett. So we were all able to pick what we wanted.:rolleyes1 .

This time next month we will had our 2nd dinner on the cruise.
Hope every one has a great week-end

Stacie how many families are doing the goody bag shuffle. I want to start getting my goodies. Did I miss who was doing it:confused3

We headed to Des Moines to do a little shopping but not until 2:30 so the maddness was mostly gone by the time we got there. DD and I both found dresses for formal night and DH and DS weren't even tortued in the process (they stayed home) Andy went with us but didn't seem to care. My TA was closed today so we'll have to go up some other time to get our docs.

We bought an artificial tree and put it up this evening, it is pre-lit so it was fairly easy to do. I'm debating about ornaments, I'm afraid that Andy (or the cat) will knock them off and they will get broken. You guys might remember last year we came home one night and the cat had knocked the entire 9' tree over.

Sharon--That's a good way to save money, sounds like something I would do.

Melissa--How did your turkey come out? Since you were at work and being productive, I take it that food poisioning wasn't an issue.

Here is who I have down for the goody bag exchange:
dutch_girl_scout (DS15, DD12, DS1)
Cristit14 (DD12, DS9)
PinkPrincess (DD7, DS9mos)
FeinFam (DD12)
Queen2 (DGD11)
KCWildcat (DD6)

Well...MIL & I seasoned it and got it in the oven. Shaun's sister's girlfriend's grandmother got there - well apparently we did the turkey wrong  and she had to 'fix' it since it wasn't done her way. Well she 'fixed' aka dried it out and killed the flavoring. She also had to change the gravy. That was ok. I don't think she's coming to Thanksgiving next year :rolleyes1 because we ate too late, cook things wrong.

It sounds like everyone had a good Thanksgiving, even with the family drama. :)
Ours was good. Brad and I got up to my parent's house around 1:30(the kids were already up there). My dad had gone to the airport to pick up my brother and family. Mom had planned on having dinner around 3:30 or 4 in case there were any issues with late flights or anything. Well, my dad was back from the airport at 2:30 with everyone. The turkey didn't seem to be cooking at all. Luckily, I had brought some appetizers. Once we started having a couple of drinks though none of us seemed to care much, and the kids were all off playing their DS's. We ended up eating around 6.

My brother and family came back home with us. I said I wouldn't do black friday again, but DSIL likes to go so we actually all went out for a little bit, not until around 10:30 or 11 though. We went to Sears and Kohls and then dropped everyone off and DSIL and I went back out to St. Nicks. I did get Rachel a new winter coat for 60% off.

Last night we had game night. We made snacky stuff for dinner, taquitos, mini tacos, guac and 7 layer dip. Then we played games. It was fun. After DSIL and the kids went to bed. DB, DH and I watched 1408. It was kind of scary.

Today they are going back up to my parent's house to stay until Tuesday. We initially thought we would drive them up and hang out for awhile, but I am thinking we will just meet my mom halfway and drop them off. I would really like to start decorating today.

There are only three weeks to go and lots of things to finish doing (and I work next weekend). I need to finish my shopping, do my cards, make my calendars and get anything I might need for the cruise still.

Only three weeks? We have swim meets the next two Saturdays! It's looking like the pirate costumes aren't going to get done. Maybe the guys' vests, but DD and I are going to have to improvise. I really should start packing or panicing, not sure which.

DS and I cleaned the whole house today (amazing what he can do when he wants to have friends over). DD was supposed to be in the Sinterklaas (Dutch Santa) parade this morning but it was cancelled because of the cold, temps in the low 30s, this is Iowa, what were they expecting? She still had to go to the indoor program and stuff but didn't involve as much work.

Great news out here in dialup land - after living 8 years out in the country with no choice (reaonably priced choice that is) but to have dial-up connection, we finally have high speed internet connection. We were told that we'd get it Dec 3 but they were out installing it on Friday.

We're having problems getting the new email set up so it will be probably the middle to end of next week before we have a new email address.

I'm almost done with the pirate pirate: costumes. I should have what I'm sewing done today and now just have to wait on SIL to finish the shirts. Next weekend I'll get serious about packing shopping and cleaning.

I have my suitcase out and have put things in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After we got home from church this morning I put Andy down for his morning nap. We had lunch, and he was still sleeping so I hauled out the suitcase, put some t-shirts, capris and shorts in, threw in the flip flops and the swimsuits. I have my "dinner attire" hanging next to the suitcase. I'm ready to go!!! OK, maybe not quite but I've got a start.

I guess I have to find something for pirate night since Patty isn't going to make ours for us. :) Maybe I'll pull out the pattern evelope again and look at it.

Happy Sunday to everyone, the Magic only sails two more times without us!

Congrats on getting out of dial up land Patty!!! Now you can post all the time :)

Yeah, Stacie, sounds like you are ready to go.

Rachel and I just spent the last hour trying on cruise clothes. I didn't actually pack anything yet though. We did figure out what we are wearing for each dinner. :cool1:

Stacie - The sewing machine is still sitting out, come on down next weekend and we can throw a couple of costmes together. What patern are you using? Mine is a McCalls. The pants and skirts are pretty easy, it's the shirts that are more difficult.

We picked up additonal suitcases yesterday on sale at Kohl's. They're bigger so I can get more stuff into fewer suitcases. Now its time to get serious about packing for DD and me.

Hello everyone. David and Rachel are at a Y-princess meeting, John is sleeping. I just put in a load of laundry :laundy: (I've always wanted to use that smiley) and decided to check the boards.

I tried on 2 of my niece's prom dresses yesterday. There was a pale pink one that fit pretty well, but I didn't think it would be appropriate for a Christmas cruise. I told David we'd have to go on a summer cruise. MIL bought Rachel some Disney outfits at the end of summer. I'm going to have her try them on to see if they still fit. She's growing so much.

David is off work from now until January 7. I'm so very excited about that. With him home, I should be able to get more done. I'm starting to stress about the cruise. It's amazing how something as wonderful as a cruise can cause so much stress.

We did a little shopping after Thanksgiving. We didn't get up early though. We wanted to get John's things and just leave them at my mom's and dad's, as Santa will be visiting us there. We could not find what we wanted though. We did pick up a few things for our goodie bags that Stacie so graciously made. :thumbsup2

I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday. We look forward to seeing more posts from you Patty!!

Susan, I think it is the cruise on top of Christmas that causes the stress. Relax, pretty soon we will be cruising. :cool1:

I finished getting my goodie bag stuff the other day. I think that all I need to still get for the cruise is a shirt for Jacob. He has his tux for formal night, but for semi formal I think he will be wearing some dress pants, a shirt and tie. None of his dress shirts fit him any more so I need to pick up a new one.

I still need to finish Christmas shopping. I need to buy for my inlaws (always hard to buy for), my brother and family (I am thinking gift cards because they are so easy to mail) and my parents (they want me to take anything I would have spent on them and send it to my aunt to help with bills and things since she has been out of work and has medical bills piling up). I will do that for my folks, but I will probably get them a small something too.

Bumping us back up to page one!!

So, when are we going to do our meet on the first day? Do we want to say 2:30 on deck 10 overlooking either the goofy pool or the mickey pool?

sounds good to me. I'll be in the goofy pool waiting for you:lmao: :lmao:
