We are going to drive to Universal from NC on Sunday. We plan on stopping about 1 hour outside of Orlando to spend the night in a hotel. Getting up and going to Orlando first thing on Monday 3/27. Our tickets for the park are for 3/27-3/31. So we will be going to the park FIRST. I was wondering if anyone has ever asked to check in early? I know check in is at 4 pm but I thought we would go over at noon and ask. Anyone done this and been successful? :wizard:

By all means - CHECK IN FIRST, before you go to IOA or US. You probably won't get your room until later, but with your resort ID, you'll have front of the line access for all rides.

Oh I didn't think of that. Thanks for that! I will most definately stop by the hotel FIRST then head out for fun!! Now to find a hotel outside of Orlando!

i ALWAYS check in way before 8 am.

my luggage is stored, i have my key card, the # to call for room assignment

i'm in the parks at rope drop.
i spend the time in the parks until i am ready to go to my room.

we arrived at RPR at 10am on 5/3 last year. They were more than happy to check us in, they even encouraged it! They stored our luggage, offered us a place to freshen up in, and gave us temp room cards (universal Express) they said the room would be ready in the aft. 2 oclock, but to go enjoy the park for the day.

Hi

We stayed at the Hard Rock last year and my son (1 at the time) was so sick 102 temp. We got there at 10:00 and when I explained my situation they had a room for me in 5 minutes.

They even called later that day to see if everything was OK. I love the Universal Hotels.

Hope you have fun - We are going a week from today - Staying at the Royal Pacific for the first time. :cheer2:

We have checked into RPR at 8 a.m. and were upgraded to a King Suite and it was ready at 8! That's like adding another day to your vacation. On the flip side once we weren't able to get into our room until after 5 but we had requested a specific room and they granted us a late check out as a pay back.

The last 2 times I've checked into RPR before 9am my room has been ready (much to my surprise). I always check in early and head right to the parks.

OH FUN!! When you get back please post about your trip! I love reading stories about the RPH. I haven't been to Universal in Florida, and I went to Disney back in 1983. So we are all excited!

Yes, check in early at 7am. The line is much shorter in the morning.
Our room was also ready. Made the trip "feel" longer because we unpacked, got settled in, then went to the parks.

do you just GO to your room after you know it's ready and they take your luggage there for you, or do you have to pick up your own luggage on the way to your room? TIA :wave2:

ok, if you are at the park and call the number and give the special code to who answers, you are told your room number.

go to your room at any time after that. your hotel key will be coded and you do not have to go to the front desk.

once in your room, call star servcie and let them know you want your luggage brought up from the holding area.

or, you can go to the valet /concierge section counter (if at hrh) and get the luggage yourself or tell them to bring it up to you then.

i always get my stuff then. i don't want to wait for it.
about 4 times i had them bring it up and it took anywhere between 5 to 20 minutes.

you can pick up your luggage if you want to.

or

once you are in your room you can call and it will be delivered to you.

either way is acceptable.
