What is the earliest time you checked into the MCO Hyatt?

Our story:

We are taking the red-eye out of Seattle Tuesday 12/14 for a Thursday 12/16 DCL cruise. We arrive at MCO at 6:30 AM - we've decided to stay at the airport and pick up our rental car the next morning before heading for the port. Saves money on rental car and I don't want to drive far as I know I'll be exhausted.

So, I made ressies at the MCO Hyatt for 12/15., $134.00 per night. I talked to their front desk person this morning and she stated that if the hotel isn't full, we should be able to get a room right away. If we want to guarantee a room at 6:30 AM, we'll need to reserve the night of 12/14 as well. Worse case we can wait in the lobby until a room does open up as I can't see paying an extra night for a few hours.

We took this same red-eye in April and were booked at the Poly. It was as far as I want to drive after being up all night so don't want to head out to Port Canaveral. And, we lucked out and did get a room at the Poly at 8:30 am - it was great to shower and crash for a bit. We're hoping the same will happen with the Hyatt.

I'm not certain of the checkin time, but I would give it a shot. I mean I think that there would be at least one available room:confused: I guess another option is that I've sen that the Hyatt does do day rooms for 68.00. There was a recent thread about that. Maybe for peace of mind, call and ask about the day rate?

BTW, I love this hotel. Our new favorite way of ending our trip, sitting at the pool watching the planes and then ordering room service.:D

You're looking to get a room almost 8 hours before checkin. I'd also take my chances BUT if you have to wait until checkin you'll have a lot of time to kill.

You have almost a day and a half to kill. If you think you'll get enough sleep on the plane you might drive E and spend part of the day on the beach or even in KSC.

We have checked in at the Hyatt in the airport as early as 9AM and gotten a room right away. They are really good about trying to accomodate odd arrival and departure time. I would think the dates are definately in your favor...historically a very slow week for both tourists and business meetings

I wouldn't woory about the day rates...if there is a room open at all they will give it to you if you are staying the night.

Barring a weather event someplace north (that would cancel a lot of flights and leave a LOT of people stuck waitong for flights out) I bet you'll be fine.
