Becuas im a worry wort am wondering what is the earliest can book ahead.I would feel better once have paid deposist and know its done .Then can really believe we are finally going to go

Planning going september 2012 .:lmao: yes i know theres forward planning and then thers my planning

Also who do people have good experiance of booking with travel agents or doing it online myself

So difficult to advise who is best. All companies have good and bad reviews.

You need to decide if you want to do a package and pay deposit only then balance 10 weeks before travelling, this is usually the most expensive way, or Pay for eveything as you buy it and do DIY.

Personally I have had more hassle with TA's than DIY. I prefer to do it all myself and know any mistakes are my own fault(thankfully never made any)

Sometimes a package can be cheaper as it was for us last time we did one, Xmas 08, £580pp for flight & hotel, I couldn't get a direct flight only for less. Other times DIY can be a massive saving, August 2009 Virgin holidays wanted approx £12,000 I did it myself for £6,000.

Very difficult to help much until prices are released but what I would say is try not to worry about it, Sept is one of the cheapest months to go and a month that never sells out, always flights/rooms available. Try not to book 1st price you see(unless its a bargain) as offers will be around for Sept.

only reason im thinking Travel agent is once paid deposit can pop in and pay it in two or 3 goes if end up leaving money in the bank its so easy to dip into if there to long

I shall sit on it till September this year and see how much i have saved up ready

we booked through thomas cook only reason we got a good deal at that time and they matched the military discount.
and ofcourse going in every month to pay i'm bad for dipping into savings :guilty:

Thank you

Nice to know im not the only one that has saving issues .

This really is a trip of alifetime for us .After losing my dad then my daughter being very poorly and then myself .I no longer want to be putting it of but need plenty time to save .

Will check out thomas cook and compare just nosey at what this year is for some idea
