Just checking rates from the Tampa airport, and they are less than half of what anyone else would charge for a rental. Are they ok, as far as car rental companies go? It seems too good to be true......

I posted this over on the other thread about flying into TPA...

If you have previously purchased park tickets (or plan to for this trip), you can book a rental car from Alamo from UnderCoverTourist.com:cool1:. I have AP's for this trip so I didn't need tickets, but since I have bought from them in the past (highly recommend, BTW;)), I was able to book the same car through Alamo for only $63.80 instead of the $87.62 I paid through the Alamo site:banana:. You might want to check them out:thumbsup2.

I see you are also on the "West side of the mitten"...loving the lake effect snow, huh??:scared1: I have not flown into TPA as an adult (went as a child in 1983 with the family) so I am eager to try it out. I think the minor inconvenience of losing DME and renting a car will be worth saving the several hundred dollars. I was also pleasantly surprised that the price out of GRR was reasonable. It's usually SO much more:headache:.

Not enjoying the snow very much. They expect schools to be closed Tuesday, as another round is in the works.

I checked UT for car rentals, and the rate is great, out of MCO. For a car out of Tampa the rate is almost double.:headache: But thanks for the idea, it was worth a shot!
