E ticket night question?

Let's say I buy the one day/one park ticket and use it at AK or Epcot and that night MK is E ticket night can I buy just admission for Eticket or do I also have to pay park ticket and E ticket? We will be staying onsite and probably won't do hoppers--short stay and we may hit 2 parks and a water park

Unfortunately, no, that won't work. The e-ticket you purchase is only a ticket for e-night itself. It does not gain you admittance into the Magic Kingdom. You must have admittance into MK in addition to purchasing the E-night Ticket.

Actually, in order to buy an e-night ticket, you have to be an on-site guest <i>and</i> have a multi-day ticket. So you can't get one with a one day ticket even if you use at MK.

Good point Kermit. Although every time I've purchased an e-night ticket, I've done so from my resort and all they've ever asked to see is my hotel key. I don't ever recall them asking to see my ticket media. But that is the policy and you never know when they will choose to enforce it.

Two weeks ago I was asked to show my park tickets when I purchased our Enight tickets. We have PAPs.

I must have UPH or Hoppers or AP or PAP and be onsite to purchase E night.

My 2 day /2 Parks and staying onsite won't work even if I choose one day to use my ticket to MK and then buy E ticket? I get that I can't if I use the day for another park?

You have to be in the MK on the E-Ride night day to exchange your E-Ride ticket for a wristband that identifies you as being an E-Ride night guest

Therefore by implication, that day you have used whatever ticket to get into MK in the first place

You have to stay on-site or at a DTD hotel to be eligible for E-Ride night and thus able to buy a pass for that night but you have to use an admission ticket to get into MK in the first place to exchange your E-ride pass for a wristband

That is exactly correct. You MUST be an onsite guest (or at and eligable DD resort), you MUST have a park hopper, annual pass, premium annual pass, UPH or, more simply put a multiday pass (the 2 day two parks is not a multi day) or a pass that allows park hopping. You MUST have used that eligable pass at one of the major parks the day of enight.
