E-Ride or PM EMH for June

No need to attack me! I have been a supporter of E-ticket nights.....been to many of them and love them!

But.....IMHO and only IMHO....meaning no offense to anyone!....If given the choice to go for free or pay an extra $12.....I would pick the Free EMH....
It hasn't been tested yet......so there is no way to know yet if the crowds for an evening EMH would really be any heavier than an E-ticket night.....that is something we will have to wait and see.

To assume that the evening EMH will be "horribly crowded" is premature. Give it a chance.......Keep an open mind.....it may surprise you.......::yes::

I didn't say you were rude. I said you were being rude. There's a big difference. I am overall a nice person myself but have been known to be rude from time to time. The reason I said you were being rude was your use of quotes of other posts followed by challenging statements with excessive use of punctuation, capitalization and smilies. You were making your point, but were doing so at the expense of others.

And as far as evening EMH being horribly crowded I simply stated that it could have as many as 30,000 people there. I have posted many times on this topic stating that all we can tell about the attendence is that it will be more than 5,000 and less than 50,000. My point was not that you were wrong for not thinking that evening EMH would be crowded, it was that you were wrong for dismissing the fact that it could potentially be crowded. I've gone on record telling people that they shouldn't change their itineraries to avoid evening EMH parks because it's not worth the stress and hassle of changing your plans when no one knows how crowded it will be.

I just happen to be an expresive person......"drama queen" sometimes......

I mostly use multiple ?? and !! and icons for fun....nothing else....

Sometimes posters are just overly sensitive.....and sometimes people just need to take chill pills.......

I highly doubt that 30,000 people are going to show up for an extra hour and half for an evening EMH.....but that is just IMHO...

I'm curious to hear your reasoning for this statement.

There are nearly 20,000 WDW resort hotel rooms eligible for the EMH. That means, when near maximum capacity, you've got upward of 40,000 guests eligible for EMH.

Certainly some people with small children may choose not to participate. Others will plan a different park for the EMH night.

30,000 people? Probably not that many on most nights. But I think that 15,000 - 20,000 is conceivable. And that's still a considerable increase over the attendance for E-Ride Nights, which is reportedly limited to only 5,000 guests.

In fact, my greatest fear about this trial program is that it might get poor reviews from guests because they are expecting less people than actually show up.

DW and I aren't early risers, and with two small children, we certainly wouldn't wake the little ones at 6:30am just to make the current EMH schedule. IMO, the "early riser" crowd has been spoiled by the Early Entry schedule for years, and it's about time they added some late hours to that benefit. We'll be there for the test period and hope it works out great for us.

We tried an e-night in June 2002 and felt it was a huge waste of $60. I find it difficult to believe that it is limited to 5000. We had at least 20-30 minute waits at every ride except Haunted Mansion (not sure why that was a walk-on). Also, Space Mtn broke down twice for at least an hour. The hours were 10pm -1am and we stayed nearly til 1am but the crowds were still present. Ours may be the exception but it was the only time we ever tried it.

I would have to agree that 30,000 is a high estimate for MK for emh. We found the crowds usually subsided after the 9pm parade. Just like many guests don't know or care to use early am emh, I'd guess the same will be true with the evening emh's. Just a guess though so who knows?

June will have E ride nights. So will July, when I'm there. I like it. Why? Because not everyone knows about it. And not everyone plans like some of us more neurotic types. Also there are so many famillies that might hang out if it was free but feel that it isn't worth the extra bucks and hassle.

As for the crowds on EMH evenings, I'm guessing they will find that many will consider their day done when the fireworks are over, small kids or not. It's how many people like to end their park day - with a bang.

When Disney sees their attendance numbers they may decide it is better to charge. These evening EMH trials might also just be used to look at late night attendance so they can consider starting something like an E ride night at MGM (or possibly Epcot, although I can't imagine letting people hang out just to wait for TT).

Even if there are 40,000 people available......

Think about it....even at PEAK times like Christmas and Easter...you aren't going to have that many people show up.

This is what I am thinking...

If...and I say IF the resorts are filled up...because that really hasn't happened very often lately.....Disney will most likely decide to leave the parks open later anyway.
That is typically what they do....thus the later hours during peak times like Christmas. And since this is a "trial" period...I would think they would take that into consideration and not use EMH when they are open later anyway.

Then, I am thinking how the crowds are during the morning EMH. Yes, you will argue that it is a "different" type of guest......I would argue that there are just as many early risers as there are night-life people......again....my opinion.

But, still.....I have been to many Early Entries and it never gets crowded until the "non-Disney Resort" guests start to arrive....

Then....another thing to consider....is that the EMH is for all 4 parks....not just MK. The E-ticket is just for MK.....which might lead me to think that the E-ticket may end up more crowded than the EMH for MK.

Another thing.....there are more attractions open for the evening EMH than for the morning....therefore dispersing the crowds evenly....they aren't all concentrated in one area like they are for the morning EMH.

IMHO.....this is all speculation anyway....they haven't even started testing it...so it is "wait and see"!!!

I know that I am hoping it will work out well and they will continue it through June!!!!:hyper:

ps....sorry if I used too many !!! ....just kidding!!!!

With 17,000+ rooms and a capacity of 4 people per room the potential total for on site guests is over 68,000 people. Disney reports a 77% occupancy rate at the WDW hotels and rooms probably average 3 people per, so the average number of on-site guests is around 40,000.

The 5,000 ticket limit on E-Ride nights is only a well-propagated rumor, not a fact. But from most experiences I've read it seems to be pretty accurate. Positive E-Ride night experiences and stories of people riding single rides multiple times without getting off far outweigh the negative experiences and stories of significant waits. It is very possible that the people who experienced negative E-Ride nights were there on a night when Disney raised the 5,000 ticket limit.

With the increased number of attractions the evening EMH could probably absorb 7,500-10,000 people and have ride waits similar to a 5,000 person E-Ride nights. So, at 15,000-20,000 people (which I agree with tjkraz is a reasonable number) the lines would be longer. Exactly how long, who knows? I hope that the it is every bit as good E-Ride nights. If I had to bet money on it I would put my money on around 17,500 people and waits shorter than 20 minutes on most rides at the start, with it slowly dying down into the 5,000 range where you could walk onto most rides. However, knowing that I'll be spending $2,500 on this vacation I would much rather spend an extra $24 and know what I'd be getting than take a gamble on the evening EMH.

June will have E ride nights.
Do you know this for sure??? Or is this speculation??
If it is confirmed.....how do you know and what are the dates??
:hyper:

I would still rather have the evening EMH for free!!!

:earseek: there I go again, using too many ??? and !!!!!! oops!!!!! just kidding!!:teeth:

I agree that the post also came off in maybe the wrong way, but I guess it was the expressions added to the post. My family took advantage of E-ride nights last July and we had a blast!! The park was relatively empty, and my daughter (the ride-aholic) went on Splash Mtn. over and over until I told her I was not going over that waterfall drop thing again! (I have to admit that I got on BTMRR just after that, though, so a lot my words meant.) We will take EMH, E-ride, or whatever they decide to offer to us. I feel it is privilege that we are offered those type of things, and am just really hoping they will be offered while we are there in June. We were going in May and hoped to be there for the EMH testing period, but because of cheerleader camp, had to change ressie for June. (I might say we also got a better rate for that time as well.)

Sorry for the second post, put further down the page is an E-ride night thread. I don't know how to post the connect to it, but someone has evidently called and found out the nights for June and posted them. :Pinkbounc

I just got off the phone regarding June 2004 E-Ride Nights. The CM told me the dates for June were basically every M, W, and F. June 2, 4, 7, 9, 11, 14, 16, 18, 21, 23, 25, 28, and 30.

In fact, I wanted to make sure the CM had her story straight so I called back right after and the 2nd CM told me the same information. No telling if it will change between now and then, but probably not.

Hope this helps all the June vacationers.

It can be found on page 3 of the original thread:
E-Ride Nights!!!

I agree with JKanownik!
We will gladly pay for the perk of an e-ticket night.

If the crowds at EMH at the Magic Kingdom are such that the wait is 20 minutes, then you add the ride time in there, and travel time to get to the next attraction.....well, you are down to maybe 3 rides in that hour. I will gladly pay the extra for 3 hours for the big rides.

But, I will also take advantage of the EMH, especially at the other parks. I will take all the park time Disney will give me (or allow me to pay extra for)!!

Thanks for doing that for everyone, JKanownik. I'm glad somebody knows how to post those things. :D

I'm so glad it's working out for the E-ride nights. BTW, we had Mickey and all the other characters almost to ourselves the night in July when we visited. We took lots of pictures, and my daughter even danced with Mickey!! This was during the third week in July.

June 4th would be PERFECT for us.:Pinkbounc Thanks. :)
