Can anyone tell me if Disney is still doing e-ride nights :confused3 and if so...how exactly does that work?
Thanks In Advance!!! :wave2:

E-Ride Nights are no more, they have been replaced with Extra Magic Hours. On certain nights, a certain park will stay open for 3 extra hours to resort guests. You will receive a wristband.

The wristband is given out from before park closing, just outside the main gate as well as inside. You need your pass so that they can confirm you are an onsite guest, then they scan it, and tag you with a band. Anyone not wearing the band is evicted at the designated closing time, we were checked before we got on almost every ride to ensure we had one, and I saw someone without one get turned away.

People not wearing the wristbands aren't evicted, but they aren't allowed on any rides or in any attractions. Technically, they're not even allowed to make purchases! [An MK CM at the shop near POTC told me I wouldn't be able to return later than night to make apurchase because he didn't see my wristband, but when I showed it to him he said it would be perfectly fine for me to return to make my purchase during EMH). So I guess they just get bored to death and feel they have to leave because there's nothing for them to do.

Maybe it was just the week I was there, but I never had my card scanned before we got EMH wristbands. I held out 6 cards, the CMs counted 6 in my party, and they put a wristband on each of us.

And by the way, there's no charge for getting wristbands and staying for EMH. Another tidbit: there's also usually ONE Extra Magic Hour in the mornings, as well -- one park opens for WDW resort guests one hour before opening for the general public.

Go to allearsnet.com for an explanation of the Extra Magic Hours and how they work. It also shows what attractions are running during both the morning and evening EMH.
Disney now posts their park schedules for six months out including EMH schedules.
