Going to DW May 10 th (can't wait) and wondering how to find out about when E nights are offered. Is there any way to plan ahead for an E - night or to buy a ticket ahead of time ????

It is my understanding, and I may be wrong about this, but there are not currently any E-ride nights scheduled through May. We are heading to WDW at the end of May and were hoping to take part in it but unless they have something for the first of June, I guess we're out of luck.

Sorry to say that there are currently no E-ticket nights scheduled for May. So far, there has not been any E-ticket nights this year. Is is gone....? We are waiting to see.

Like a view others on this board, I emailed WDW regarding E-nights and told them that I was wished they would bring them back, esp. since we will be visiting in May. I was a little surprised when I got a response today requesting my phone number so that they may contact and speak to me in person. Hopefully it's good news!

Aloha! :earsgirl:

I too wrote asking about e nights. I got two e-mails back, one was giving me info about e-ticket nights, another was a generic thank you for my inquiry but there were none scheduled in the near future. We will be there in July and I am really hoping they bring them back.

Be sure to keep us posted if you get a call! DH and I are going in May and would love to for there to be an E-Ride Night!

I received the same generic responses from WDW, but I received some actual info from Lance who runs Screamscape.com. Apparently there aren't any plans to schedule E-Ride nights in the near future because of a desire to cut labor costs. He also said his sources confirmed that we MAY see some scheduled for next financial quarter and that WDW sources know that the event was successful (I'm assuming in their eyes, profitable). We'll just have to wait and see.

I too will be there 5/9-5/15 and am really hoping for E-Nights to make a surprise entry. Last May(2003) they had them at MK every Thursday. I've still got my fingers crossed. :D

Nothing official just a guess, but I would not look for them until June, if even then.

I'll definitely post if I hear anything. I did read something about e-nights being cut back because of the cost but I also thought that it was a profitable for them to do it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed....

Hi all,
I too have gotten an e-mail asking for my phone no. which I gave them and it took another e-mail to get them to call me.
I got that call yesterday. The guest relations person told me that because the June hrs. (thats when we are going) are not out yet she cant tell me if they will have them or not. DUH I could have figured that out.
She did say that because they havent said that they will NOT have them anymore, that there is still hope for them, and to just keep checking there site(disney.com).
Another words she is not going to tell me anything....Or she doesnt know anything to tell.
Maybe the big wigs are keeping this even from there guest relations people too.
Sorry thats all she said.....
Its not looking good to me.
Also she said that all e-mail goes to the top as well as to GR.and to keep e-mailing our complaints or suggestions. She says it does get there attention.
Who knows it all sounded canned to me.

I remember a time when there was no E nights and they had
the park open late we didnt' even have to pay extra for that.

I wish they would do that again.::MickeyMo

I emailed from the Disney site about 3 weeks ago and got a call last week. It was sort of a strange call, too. Not at all Disney-like. She wanted to know what we liked so much about e-nights and if they were really all that important to us. I said yes, they are important and we really, REALLY enjoy them. AND that e-nights are one of the reasons we stay on-site. They make us feel "special" as resort guests.

Her response was less than overwhelmingly positive. I got the distinct impression that Disney is NOT fond of e-nights, and that the return-callers were sort of supposed to downplay them. She didn't say so directly, but I didn't get the impression that there's much hope for many more, if any, in the future.

I too would be happy to see later hours if there aren't going to be more e-nights. But I think it'll be a lo-o-oong time before we see any 1:00 AM closings again.

I don't think Disney is against them, but I do know they received complaints from many guests that were against them. I think now they are kinda surprised to find out many guests do like them.

I am sure that when they had E-Nights, hardly no one wrote them and said," Please keep them coming we like them".

But the guest that did not like them, did complain. I know that from friends that work for Disney.

So my point is, If you want them back, you had better let them know.

I'm sure the problem was complaints from guests who were escorted out of the park because they hadn't paid the extra money for E-nights. Many people aren't happy paying $50+ for the park as it is and would become enraged if asked to pay another $12 to stay in the park that they have already paid to be in. I know if DW and I travelled with her Grandpa and we asked him to fork over an extra $12 for E-nights, it would take us days to get him to stop complaining about it.

People have thrown out the option of extending park hours, but if extending hours doesn't increase attendance enough to justify the extra labor costs, then that is no longer an option. I know it sucks to think of WDW froma business point of view, but when you do look at it that way the numbers don't lie.

With extra hours not being an option what Disney is left to compare is the profit generated by E-nights vs. the negative perception created with guests that have a problem with it. At $12 a pop x 5,000 guests it's only $60,000 in revenue for Disney. Considering that Disney's most important asset is it's brand equity and that the total revenue in the parks last year was almost $6.5 billion, it's very easy to see why E-nights have gone away. In fact, it's very hard to see them ever coming back except during times when the park is already open late and the crowds thin out before close.

Personally, when faced with a choice of paying $12 to ride the same number of rides at night that I paid $50+ for during the day, it's a no brainer for me. I think the $12 for an E-night is the best bargain I've ever seen at WDW. It a shame that people have complained about it enough to make them take it away. Unfortunately the only way to change the negative perceptions of the people who don't like E-nights is through education. Because it would cost money to educate people on why E-nights don't hurt regular guests (and the costs for educating guests would completely wipe out any profit gains from E-nights), there really isn't an easy solution to this.

With all that being said, I still think you should call or write and ask for them to bring back E-nights. I like them and I want them back!!
