I've read about the refurbs at Amazon. Where else are people finding good deals on Dyson's? Also, about the Linens and Things coupon (20%!) - where are those found?

The Linens and Things coupons are usually found in their weekly sales paper. Do they take competitor's coupons like Bed Bath and Beyond does? If so, I can send you a BBB coupon since I have tons. PM me your address if you would like a coupon.

This may seem like a dumb question but if the suction is so strong wouldn't that be bad for the carpet in the long run?

I would love a dyson! We have a lab and 4 cats!

We got a really good deal when we purchased our Dyson (granted it has been several years) but we purchased ours at Best Buy and I printed off a price from an online vacuum store (vacuums for less?) and Best Buy honored that advertised price. If I remember correctly we ended up saving at least $50 if not more. Like I said it has been several years so I cannot remember the exact amount except that I remember it being significant! Hope this helps

We got ours at Sam's last year for $429 when we first moved into our house. I love love it. We have a short hair dog who sheds like he's trying to get rid of all of her fur at once. Dh vacuums at least every other day with Dyson. He just loves seeing all the dirt and hair that's accumulated swirling in there.

I recently got my 2nd Dyson from Walmart during a closeout sale for $349. It was too good of a deal to pass up.

Recently DH mentioned how well our carpet was holding up. Until I read this thread it never dawned on me that the Dyson could have something to do with it.

For those that didn't read the whole thread, just wanted to mention again that the Dyson filter does not need to be replaced like other vacuums. Taking that into consideration the Dyson probably comes out cheaper in the long run.

Kohls has vacuums on sale this week in their add. That's where I got mine, and they were on sale, and I used a coupon with my Kohls credit card to get an extra 10 or 15% off. I know if you don't have a card you can sign up and get that coupon that day, plus if you can may off your card at the registers right away if your concerned about having a balance.

My BB&B coupons says that the 20% does not include Dyson products but Chell said they do allow it to be used on Dysons, so tonight after work I will be picking up my coupon and heading to BB&B for a Dyson!!!

What do you think of purchasing a refurb Dyson? My hubby has shockingly given me the go-ahead to purchase "whatever I want" and I've been online all morning looking with purpose. I see Amazon has refurbed Dyson's and the $$ is much easier to swallow.

Also we have hardwood in 8 out of 10 rooms. Will the Dyson perform well? I have read several reviews that say the Dyson Animal will not work on area rugs because the suction is too strong. Does anyone here have experience with either the Animal or the Full Gear on area rugs? Those are the two models I am considering.

We bought a refurb from Amazon and so far we are extremely pleased with it. I only have carpeting in my bedroom and the animal has been excellent on the wood floors and the tile as well as the area rugs and carpet. Not a single issue with too much suction for the area rug.

I was considering the same thing. Amazon also has a special in Kitchens and Housewares that *may* be used with the Dyson (I'm not sure). Type "VALENTIN" in the promotional claim code section and get $25 off.

*sigh* I'm bummed. I'll have to wait a few months before I can afford a $300+ Dyson. My dishwasher just died and my new one was delivered $500 later. Portable dishwashers are expensive, but rehabbing the kitchen is even more expensive, LOL. We also just paid off our New Year trip and we're going to Hawaii next month. I'm short on disposable income right now and my Fantom Thunder still works OK .

YeeHaa! I can see a Dyson in my future! Thanks CrankyShank for sharing your experience with the Animal. A lovable, but perfuse shedding Golden lives in our home. I have had it with the tumbleweeds on my floor, even floating in the air! I can't clean and vacuum enough. I hope the Dyson will deliever. Kinda nervous! I plan to approach hubby tonight with my pick.

The expiration date on the coupon doesn't even matter either. If they give you a difficult time let me know, but they shouldn't.

Also compare their price to Kohl's this week. They will match prices if you bring the sale's paper in to prove they have the exact same item (a product number is helpful) on sale for a cheaper price, then you can use your coupon on top of that.

A Full Kit Dyson is on its way to my house!

Dh and I sat down together and I showed him everything I learned about the Dyson. We looked at the models on Amazon and got our refurb Full Kit Dyson for $274.99 baby! Yes! Can't wait for it to arrive.

do you have Linen's & Things nearby? I used a 20% off coupon there for my Dyson with no problems at all (the coupon from LNT does not exclude Dyson.) I have some extra coupons ~ if you want I could send them to you...you can use them at BBB also.
