How times have changed! Woz just going thru a bag full of stuff that I've collected thru the years of my WDW holidays (DD and I have just got into scrapbooking) and came across a "Sassagoula Times" which we received when we checked in for our very first on-site stay at Dxl (POR now) in 1996. Does anyone else have one of these?

It's a wonderful 8 page "broadsheet" which doubles as a normal resort guide and a "history" of how Dixie Landings came about. Wanna know who founded Dixie Landings? Who established his isolated home on Ol' Man Island? Who was Dixie Landings' first mayor and what mansion did he live in? Why is Boatwrights called that? Answers to all these questions and more are in my copy of the Sassagoula Times!

Somewhat different to the "guide" we received when we stayed in POFQ in 2001! All we got then was a photostat copy of the resort map with our room ringed in ink!

Think I'd get anything for my Sassagoula Times on Ebay?!

We received a Sassagoula Times during our stay at Port Orleans Riverside last November (2002).

I have one from our November 1998 stay at Dixie Landings. I wish all the resorts did something like that!

I have one too from I believe 1996. I thought it was so cute, I saved it all these years.

Back when there were two separate resorts, one had the Sassagoula Times, and the other the Sassagoula Sentinel. I have copies of both from back in 1994, and the two contain some common info, and they also tell different versions of the same story.

It's one of those nice little touches that are slowly becoming rarer at WDW.

I remember getting one the first few times I stayed at DxL. I wish I saved it!

We got one when we went this past March. They gave it to us at check-in.
We have a homepage with some trip pictures.

Yes, I have one too. Plus I have The Silver Creek Star from Wilderness Lodge in 1994 and Fort Wilderness Gazette in 1991. Now to date myself I also have a Pictorial Souvenier Book from the Magic Kingdom when it opened (okay I was 12 then). Now that I'm thinking of this I'll have to look thru all of my momentos too.
