Hello all, my family will be staying at BCV Oct 1-10th and we will be on the DXDP. I have a question about breakfast. A few mornings we will want to have a hot breakfast as opposed to muffins, etc. If we eat at the Captain's Grill do you get to pick one of the items listed as "starters" as your appetizer? I don't think of bfast and appetizers but I ask because they have oatmeal listed and if I get to pick that and an entree then my daughter and I can just share a breakfast and save a credit. Also, if we get a breakfast from Beachclub market then what items do you get......I know they have sandwiches but do you just get a sandwich and drink? Do they have "sides" or "starters", again thinking it would be nice to get enough food to share with my daughter to save a credit. Thanks for the help!

when we ate breakfast at non-buffet restaurant while on the deluxe plan, we were told no appetizers come with breakfast...we could have one of the platters and 2 drinks or our choice of non-platter entree & two drinks. The one drink was the normal Dining plan beverage with the meal, and the 2nd drink was instead of a dessert. So you could have juice & coffee if you wanted. We thought it was kind of odd that they were giving you a 2nd drink because there was no dessert, but they actually had "starters" on the menu, but you didn't get to use them as appetizers. Waiter just said that breakfast does not come with appetizers - his exact words were "breakfast is not an appetizer meal." This was at Kona Cafe. Don't know if they all do it that way, but that's what happened to us.

However, have to say the breakfast platters at the table service restaurants are HUGE. Two people could easily split them. An example would be the "Big Kahuna" at the Kona Cafe: it's french toast, macadamia nut pancakes, 2 eggs any style, breakfast potatoes, a slice of ham, a sausage, and 2 slices of bacon. Plus 2 drinks. I could not begin to finish that breakfast. When we were deciding on where to have table service breakfasts, we looked at several resort restaurants and seems like they all had several breakfast-platter offerings that were similar to the Big Kahuna...lots of food. Hubby had the steak & eggs platter--was a full size new york strip steak, 2 eggs any style, a biscuit & breakfast potatoes. Again, a very full plate of food - he didn't finish it all either.

Thanks for the info here. I saw this thread earlier and lost it. This is good info - we always like to go here for bksf.

well, I just was looking at the 2011 Disney dining plan brochure & they have changed that one to show the breakfasts coming with just "entree and non-alcoholic beverage" instead of saying you get "juice-entree-non-alcoholic beverage." So it looks like they've dropped the juice as part of the meal...now it's just one drink, so that will be different next year.

A couple of years ago we had were at PORS and had the DxDDP. This was back when Boatwrights served breakfast. I tried to order the strawberries and cream that was listed under the starters part of the menu as an appetizer and was told I couldn't, that breakfast did not include appetizers.
