Hi everybody! We are Kimmee and Gavin!
Short background:
We lost out on our wedding after Hurricane Katrina. My husband and I wound up eloping alone with the promise that we would have a celebration with family and friends later. Later just kept getting pushed back and back and back... and that savings jar of ours just kept getting emptied to The Struggle. We revisited the idea of doing a VR for our 10 year, but then he wound up deploying to the middle east (now as a veteran contractor) and we pushed the idea back again. After 10 years (11 total together) and three children, though, we realized saving up all this money for some big party with all these friends and family members we hardly ever see now just seemed silly... Wouldn't it make more sense to put all that money towards, I don't know, DISNEY WORLD!?
My husband has been to Disney World several times throughout his life with his family (Disney Fanatics and Regulars!) and even got to attend his sister's wedding there with our oldest (who was 18 months old at the time) while I stayed home to work at my new job. I, however, have never been. And now I have two little girls who have never been, either!
So, while my husband visited home from Afghanistan a few weeks ago, we browsed the packages and proposed the idea to our immediate family (our parents and siblings) and they LOVE it.
We are calling it our Vow Renewal & Familymoon.
We decided on March of 2018. It seems far away, but once we realized the timeline for paying deposits and scheduling things, we decided this is absolutely the perfect time! (Gives us and our families ample time to save!)
We decided on the Escape package, but we're having some confusion with all the details (My SIL had a Wishes wedding, which is obviously a bit different.)
