DVD player need help

I just bought a replacement for my old dvd player. I plugged it in using the same cables in the corresponding jacks. The sound is great but the picture is showing 2 pictures side by side on my tv. Any ideas what I am doing wrong.

Is the channel switch on your DVD player set to the current channel.

Usually its 3 or 4. If the new DVD is set to 4 and you are used to turning to 3, you'd get some goofy stuff.

YEA!!! I figured it out. By pure luck! There is a ratio setting on the dvd player that lets you pick the size tv screen. I set it to wide and it worked. Who knew.
