DVD Burning Software?

I haven't been here in a while, but I need some help! I just got a DVD burner and I'm trying to find software to use with it. It came with a trial version of Nero, but I don't like it. Does anyone have any suggestions of something that is easy to use and affordable? I really need advice! Thanks in advance!

What don't you like about Nero, and was it Nero Express?

I'm going to move this thread over to the Photography Board. They're so helpful over there. After reading thru threads over there a couple of years ago, I settled on Pinnacle for video editing and burning my videos to DVD. The software is pretty user-friendly and flexible enough for this novice.

What do you want to burn to DVD? Just files like picture files for storage, or videos that you want to play in your DVD player?

I don't remember if it's Nero express. I'll have to look when I get home. The version I have doesn't show anywhere for me to burn a DVD. There were only options for VCD, CD and mini-DVD. Maybe I don't have the right version.

I want to burn videos to play in my DVD player.

What version do you have?

You can get a OEM cd from amazon pretty cheap if its a older version the newer one does it all.

If you are looking to back up a movie then try dvdfab and dvdshrink both you can d/l on filehippo.com

I'd check the Nero settings closer. Also, try to switch from "Nero Express" to "Nero Burning ROM" - there's often a toolbar button for this, or pick the latter directly from the Start menu. If it came with a DVD burner, I'm quite sure it can burn DVDs - any version of Nero in the past few years has been able to burn DVDs.

Sounds like you have the wrong drive selected. Do you also have a CD recorder? If so, check the Nero setting to make sure you have the correct drive selected.
