DVCers - AKV?

Are Crocs sensible shoes? :) Anyone shell out for the new Mickey Ear Crocs? I just haven't had the nerve to actually buy them

Got em - love em - where them all the time!!! I work on my feet for 12 hrs per shift - wear them and never had trouble!!

Get em!!

Yes, I can confirm she does wear those ugly shoes every chance she gets. She wears them to work, to go shopping, on her boat, to Disney, on DCL, camping, she even wears them out in snow. I bought her 2 pairs of Mickey crocs for x-mas. (Hi Hun). She wore Crocs before the Mickey ones, but now there is even more reason to wear. (But they're Mickey, I can hear her saying) She swears by them as does my Mom. I personally don't like them because of my arch ....BUT since they have been wearing them, neither has complained about their feet at WDW or any place else.

My two favorite places at WDW are Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge. When I bought DVC, I bought at Wilderness Lodge even though SSR was for sale at the time, and my guide initially told me that VWL was sold out. Had I known that AKV would be built, I might have bought fewer points at VWL and gotten some points at AKV. I thought of selling one of my VWL contracts and buying the equivalent amount of points at AKV. However, that would disrupt my current reservations that are using those points, so I decided against it. I also definitely *don't* need any additional points. So I'll just stick with my VWL points. Sometimes I'll switch to AKV if I can, but if I can't, staying at VWL is a very nice consolation prize. (So many DVCers still consider walking to EPCOT the Holy Grail of vacationing, so my guess is that AKV won't be that hard to get at the six-month point, but we'll see.)

I was in WDW a couple weeks ago and after the day I had at work today I wish I was still there!!!! Anyhow, I stayed at OKW and walked to DTD a few times. On one of the trips I took a detour into SSR and saw the models. I have to say that they have the theme for AKV down right. It's somewhat sureal to walk into a building at Saratoga and yet be in Animal Kingdom Rooms, complete with murals of animals outside the rooms, but it was very cool to actually see the rooms. They seemed a bit small, but that was probably because I was staying at Old Key West this trip and those rooms are pretty big. I took pictures but someone on the DVC boards already posted some. I'm quite pleased with the way they look and I think everyone will like them.

And for the record, I don't own crocs (sorry, not quite my style!) and Stella is very cute (yes, I wear pumps every day at work but not Christian Louboutin!)

I'm looking at this previous post of mine and laughing. I bought an AKV add-on on Friday. So much for just sticking with my VWL points. (It's just a small add-on, though.)

gppnj who can blame you ! I have no NEED for AKV points but it would make life all the more enjoyable for me. My time at WDW keeps me going through the time I'm not there.

I bought a 25 point add on in Dec for more BWV points, bringing my total to 225 . I was going to get one more add on at BWV ,but now I may get them at AKV and you know 25 just will not do there . I mean WHAT !!!!! can you do with just 25 <VBG> I may have to go for 35 or 50 . Well thats what I'm telling myself anyways.

gppnj what kind of punishment are you giving your self for going against your own advice. I think you should be made to use those points at AKV and host a gay boards gathering in a 1 bedroom so we can all get to see the new rooms <G> that'll teach you to go against yourself !!:rotfl:

Well, my plan is to go in early April 2008. I'll stay at AKV the whole time if I can, but I only have enough points to guarantee a stay there for one night. If I need to, I'll just stay there just the one night and then switch to VWL.

One thing that has made me need more points than I initially thought I would is that I figured I'd always be getting studios or one bedrooms. However, I've already booked a two bedroom once (less than two months to go before that trip!), and I'm planing on getting a two bedroom again for the April 2008 trip.
