David’s DVCbyRequest.com, and my experience requesting reservations at the DVC Saratoga Springs Resort.
Pretty cool. Super easy to use website, very quick response, super price.
I personally think David is one of the nicest people that I have ever met. I first met David at the DISboards DIS CONvention many years ago and at several DIS meets and just by chance at WDW.
Today, I have had a wonderful experience making reservations with David’s daughter, called Melissa.
I received the email at 12:33 P.M. EST. Then I did some research online on prices and discounts and used the point calculator. Finally, I clicked on the reservation button.
I received an email reply from Melissa, David’s daughter at 3:05 P.M. EST with my confirmation. I thought that she was really fast. I was done. I had my reservation for only $14.00 more than my Pop reservation.
I only had to wait less than two and a half hours from checking my email with the newsletter deal, which was very quick and very simple to use, to when I received a confirmation number for my reservation with contract.
I was able to get a DVCbyRequest.com “LAST MINUTE SPECIAL” news letter informing me that there are DVC Saratoga Springs Resort points available for only $6.00 per point. I have seen these all of the time and always wished that I could take advantage of one those deals.
This is what I saved using this deal versus other reservations using regular rental points or room rack or discount rates compared to my Pop Century Resort reservation:
I paid $360.00 for 5 nights using 60 points at $6.00 per point at DVC Saratoga Springs Resort Studio.[/COLOR]
2. If I used $13.00 per point, I saved over 53% or $420.00. While the total cost would be $780.00 for 5 nights using 60 points at $13.00 per point at DVC Saratoga Springs Resort Studio.
3. If I used Cash Room Rack Rate, I save over 78% or $1,299.00. While the total cost would Cost $1,659.00 for 5 nights Cash Rack Rate at $295.00 per night or $1,475.00 plus $220.00 tax at DVC Saratoga Springs Resort Studio.
4. If I stayed at Pop Century Resort, and if I use Cash Rack Standard Room Rate, I save over $101.00 if I instead stayed at DVC Saratoga Springs Resort Studio. Total cost would be $461.00 for 5 nights Cash Rack Rate at $82.00 per night or 410.00 plus $51.00 taxes at Pop Century Resort.
5. If I stayed at Pop Century Resort, and if I use Fall/Winter Room Standard Rate, I would pay over $14.00 Total more staying at DVC Saratoga Springs Resort Studio. Total cost would be $346.00 for 5 nights Cash Fall/Winter Room Standard Rate at $61.50 per night or 307.50 plus $38.50 taxes at Pop Century Resort.
First, I must say that the only way that I got this deal was via an email news letter that I signed up for on his website. If you would like to get similar “LAST MINUTE SPECIAL” deals, just sign up for his news letter for future opportunities.
Second, these “LAST MINUTE SPECIALS” usually have a limited span of days in which to make reservations based on availability. For instance, this “LAST MINUTE SPECIAL” at Saratoga Springs Resort has a 44 point minimum and with a CHECK IN NO EARLIER THAN SEPTEMBER 5, 2010, and a CHECK OUT NO LATER THAN OCTOBER 1, 2010.
Third, I was lucky enough to be online when this email popped up on my email. I can imagine that these points will be used up quickly, or availability may be gone for a particular date or room size. But September seems to always be a slow month from what everyone on the DIS reports. And I had a Pop Century Resort reservation within the same time period that I could cancel with five days notice and take this deal.
Fourth, there are several links to click in the email. I clicked on the email link describing the deal. Once I understood the simple directions and limitations to the deal and registration, I then wanted to compare prices of this special with a Pop Century Resort Special that WDW was offering.
Fifth, I clicked on the email link to David’s points calculator. On this page, I found all of the DVC resorts listed. I chose SSR, clicked “continue button”. The next page showed a calendar and I just clicked on the date in the month and day that I wanted to arrive and the month and day that I wanted to depart and clicked “continue button”. This final page showed me a list of the resort’s rooms and how many points required. My five nights were 60 points for five nights.
Five nights at DVC Saratoga Springs Resort requires 60 points times $6.00 per point equals $360.00 total cost. No tax to add. The total cost per night is $72.00 per night for 12 points per night.
This was so very close to the same total cost of a stay at Pop Century Resort.
But, at SSR, the room is larger, and has a sofa, kitchenette with frig, stove, microwave, free internet if DVC member when compared to Pop Century Resort. And I love Pop Century Resort. But I sure do like sitting in a comfy sofa and raising my sore leg up.
Sixth, I clicked on the email link to David’s “Click here reserve your villa”.
This was a summary page of my request stating what is available.
My computer screen showed the specifics of the deal of “UP TO 450 points” with “44 point minimum applies” at “$6.00 per point” and with a “CHECK IN NO EARLIER THAN SEPTEMBER 5, 2010” and “CHECK OUT NO LATER THAN OCTOBER 1, 2010” at “Saratoga Springs Resort Only” and a “$65.00 deposit is required at time of request” and a “Refundable if we can't put your request together” and “Prepayment will be required once availability is confirmed”.
Seventh, I clicked on the link at the bottom of the page, “Click here reserve your villa”. This page stated, “RAPID SERVICE RESERVATION” Step One.
It was so easy.
I highly recommend using David's DVCbyRequest services.
