We just bought dvc.
My DH think we will be losing out b/c we use to get package with wishes? He loves to eat and got his $ worth. also he thinks we got discounted tickets? Is he right?

Well, first of all welcome to DVC! We are members and love it! We do, however, have 4 kids and feel that the 2 bedroom units are WAY nicer than getting 2 hotel rooms. DVC is a big decision to make, I'm pretty sure that most would not go through with it if they felt it was not a good deal for them. DVC, and TSs in general, are just not for everyone. In the long run, if you go to WDW repeatedly, DVC will save you $$$, but ONLY on accomodations. You do get discounts on UPH tickets, which are for length of stay, and you do get discounts at some restaurants and some shopping places. However, many DVC families take advantage of having a kitchen and fix one or more meals in the room, thus saving $$$$ on food. Go to the DVC forum if you have more questions, but be warned that most of us over there are very happy to be DVC owners and responses may be a little biased. Lacee

Welcome to DVC we are also owners of DVC 3 BWV contracts to date.....

You should stop by the DVC forum...

You do not get park tickets with your purchase. Like the above poster mentioned you will defiantely save money on your accomodations and food if you cook in the room...which with a family of six we do many many times each trip...saves us at least $1000 each trip in food costs...

Welcome to the Dis and welcome to DVC. We are DVC members too and love it. While you don't get the benefit of discount tickets or meal packages, you definitely save money on accomodations, so overall, you're coming out ahead! We crunched the numbers and personally DVC has paid for itself in the short time we've owned it. Definitely check out the DVC forum. It's a fun group of people and you'll learn a lot!
