DVC points at a premium resort, rented, would net an owner more than $1200. Used to book a DVC villa, 120 points would get a week or close to it in a studio at many resorts large sections of the year.
And that's just the comparison for a cheap cruise, in a very low, small cabin without a porthole. Heaven help you if you want to swap into a longer cruise, Alaska, or Europe.
