Did do a little search but could not find much really.

Just looking at buying in to DVC.

Has any one any experience, any one a member?

Are park passes included?

For example if we wanted 2 weeks august OKW 1 bed studio, any one know how much that would be down and how much monthly?

Thanks every one :thumbsup2

Agree with the post above but to answer a question the park tickets are not included with dvc.
You should be able to find lots of info about dvc on the forums/net.

You must buy a minimum of 160 points. To work out how many points you need, you need to decide how often you are going to visit as you can bank & borrow points. Check out the many DVC forum as well as the UK one. If you are out there do the tour. Even if you decide not to buy, you get ice-cream, a photo and sometimes a pin or fast passes. We bought in 2007 and it works well for us, but does not suit everyone. Although you don't get passes, there are other perks and discounts

Sorry hope you didn't think my short reply was rude - i'm rubbish at doing links.

There are lots of different bits of the DIS that you only discover when someone links to them or points them out.

Not rude at all :good vibes

Thanks for pointing it out. Like you say the dis is HUGE (echo effect) and only after you pointing it out did I discover this section.

So thank you :flower3:

You dont need to buy a min of 160

We purchased 110 two weeks ago and then cancelled due to other reasons

No park passes included and you only get 100 dollars off an annual pass

110 points was enough to get us two weeks every other year i. A studio in bay lake

We bought 450 on holiday two weeks ago at SSR :)
We went through everything with our guide Tim who was fantastic.
We looked at our vacation habits and then fit it around that.
We go every other year for 3 weeks.
We opened a Suntrust account whilst there so pay our dues monthly, transferring from XE.com as Paypal can be long from what I hear.

Have points to use now though so we head back home next Christmas :)
Works for us as we holiday there all the time.

Some great threads and info on here ,enjoy reading it all :)

We bought resale at bcv because we love that resort. Now is a good time to buy resale.

I agree with the pp that now is a good time to buy resale. You can see from my signature that I have been a member for 15 years and have loved it and it has worked out well for us. However, I doubt I would pay Disney prices were I buying today. This thread gives you an idea of the sort prices people are paying resale.

OK, that is new - maybe the minimum requirements depends on the resort. Our home is AKV. I only know that was the minimum as our guide split our total allocation to 160 and 60 incase we wanted to separately gift them in our will!!!

We bought DVC in 2008 and there definately was a 160 point minimum back then too. However, if we want to buy additional points (known as "adding on"), there is no minimum required because we are already members.

We were regular visitors to Florida anyway and after buying DVC, we planned to go to WDW every 2nd year or so, and stay for 2 to 3 weeks at a time. In reality, we have gone every 18 months so far, and have sometimes split our time at WDW with cruising.

So far, we are enjoying our home away from home, and are looking forward to many more DVC stays in the future.

DVC is great if it fits your vacation style. We like to be flexible sometimes we holiday with the whole family sometimes just 3 of us so we need different sizes of accommodation. We visit at different times of the year and we like to stay at different resorts. DVC can accommodate all of that so it suits us well.

There are forums on here dedicated to DVC ownership with some great info there are other sites just for DVC members and those looking to buy. The info is there for you. Do some research online, decide what you want and then take the tour with a DVC guide when you are fully informed.
