We figured out why my new membership card came, but DH's did not. His was sent to our old address! But DVC won't allow me to change his address. Why is this? We are both listed on the title.

Can you change it online?

:earsboy: Bill

No. I updated my account but for some reason it didn't work. They said he needs his own account??? I can't set it up until he gets some access code. Evidently we each have our own code.

Have him call member services.

He can change it online but he has to make a disney account and link to the membership and then he can update his info. Or, he can just call as was already suggested. In our case, I just made another account my better half and got her registered online so that I can manage everything in the future without calling.

I know he has to call, but I don't understand WHY they won't let spouses handle it. It's very odd that each spouse is separate.

Legally, what if your DH didn't want to change addresses? When you call all he has to do is say yes I want my address changed too, please talk to my wife.

We deal with this type of issue all the time, he has to give them specific permission to discuss or change his contact info. You can call, hand him the phone to give them permission then take it back and do it. Or he can call and do it or as noted, he can do it online with a separate login.

My husband and I are having the same issue. Everytime we receive DVC info we get two copies, one in my name to our current address, one in his name to our previous address; two copies of Disney Files, 2 separate 25th anniversary packages, etc. You would think that a change of address on the account would cover the entire account and not a single person unless specified, but I guess not. He never signed up for an online account, and no longer can without making a call to MS for the one time login activation, since I am the one that deals with all the vacation planning and DVC details and he can never seem to find the time (or motivation...) to make the phone call to Member Services.

Yes!!! He cannot call during the week because he's at work. On the weekends we are going to kids activities.

Both our Nsmes are on account but everything comes in his name. Although I do get my own DVC cards. When our new cards had not arrived by early March I called to see if I could just print out a digital card for both of us since we were going to disney soon and I wasn't sure if the old cards were still valid. It turns out they were but when I wtnt to print out a copy of the new card only my husbands card showed. Member services told me that in order to print out a card in my name I would have to set up my own account. Which is funny to me becsuse my husband has no clue how to access the dvc accounts since I handle everything. And I often Mske reservations in my own name on 'his' account.

So when I tried it turned out I couldn't set up my own account unless I listed another email address. We share the same email address except for my husband business email and I didn't want to make one up. Anyway we got our cards for both of us a couple weeks later so it was moot point but it does seem odd and over complicated not to allow all parties to have access to the same online account.

All of your names are on a contract, and each have legal rights to the powers that come with it. Disney does not have the power to provide one owner control over the other owner(s) legal rights except as laid out in the contract. Use of points by any owner is provided in the contract.
Disney does not want to get involved in disputes between owners, married or not, so unless you have been given a legal right to change the other owners information you can't. From Disney perspective, the DVC log in is per owner and can't be shared, this way they can allow the owner of the login change their info.

The code isn't in your initial packet that you might have filed away somewhere? Wonder if that initial code would work?

In our case, I (the associate) just set up DH's account and I manage it all. Never set up my own account, LOL.

We got it taken care of today :) They gave us his access code and I set up his account. Glad that's done!

I just changed my DW's mailing address using Member Services on-line chat help. She does not have an on-line account.
