DVC UPH discount questions...

I know that we can get a 10% discount on the UPH rate, but is the 10% discount applied towards the advance purchase price of the buy at resort price?

If the discount is applied towards the resort price, it really isn't much of a discount right? I do understand that usually we can exclude the first or last day from the cost which is an advantage.

Can anyone shed any light on this subject?

The UPH with DVC discount can only be purchased at the resort (thus, no advance purchase is possible) and the first and last days can usually be dropped from the pass.

With the DVC discount, the pass is still less than the advance purchase cost (and those MUST be for the entire stay). Some find the UPH worthwhile and others still find better value in a Hopper pass where unused days never expire.

One thing I found out this last trip, is that if you don't have everyone accounted for on the reservation (if you have 4 people going, make sure the ressie says 4), then they cannot purchase the ticket at the desk.

I only showed one person and my DH ended up going, and he couldn't purchase the discounted ticket.
