We're considering DVC, so we wanted to do a tour on this next trip. So, my question is, how do I set that up? Do I just do it when I'm there or should I call now or what? I'm totally clueless on this!

Sorry if I'm on the wrong board. I didn't know which DVC board to post this on.

You can just let them know when you arrive. There is a DVC counter at all resorts and in all parks. Just let them know when and where to pick you up. They are great about picking you up and bringing you over to SSR for the presentation.
We had breakfast at the Poly and had them pick us up there - they even brough car seats for the kids. After we were finished they dropped us off at MK.

We didn't schedule anything with DVC. We knew the sales office was at Saratoga, so on our last day of vacation we drove over there and they handed us over to a guide immediately and gave us a tour.

We were at CSR and the desk was next to check in. We just finished breakfast and we were going to the pool. We just asked when we could schedule a tour. She said how's now? 15 min later we were on our way.
Good luck i hope the numbers work for you. We bought 160 at SSR and they had a $10 / point discount closing out SSR and we found out about a 25% discount for cast members and their families. Our youngest son is a seasonal CM after doing the CP last fall.

We called from our room (there's a DVC button on your phone). It was really nice, because we were able to schedule our tour. They picked us up, took us to SSR, and dropped us back off at OKW. FWIW, ours was a really nice, low pressure tour. Definitely worth while!!! :thumbsup2

and if you happen to be over by the boardwalk, be sure to drop in and see the model there...

I didn't even know there was one still there! Do they still have models set up at all of the DVC resorts?

Hi all, here's a question....... Do you get anything for going through the DVC timeshare spiel like perhaps discounted park tickets? Anything at all?

They gave us cards which were good for a few head of the line fastpasses to compensate us for our time in taking the tour. Kids got ice cream at the end of our tour. That was really all I can recall.

We received $15 gift cards for each member of our family. The told us we may not have been able to use the Fast Passes if rides were already sold out for the day so the GC would be a better deal. I was happy w/that and used them to buy my MK Christmas Castle to start my WDW holiday village :cutie: I've been dreaming about getting that since our last trip.

I plan to do it in August.

They say about an hour. However, I believe that I took a bit longer maybe 90 minutes on my first tour. And then probably 1.5-2 hours on the second tour when I signed the paperwork!

We were in and out in less than an hour. Our guide was way non-pressure. In fact he apologized that he had to cut our chat off because he had to leave to go pick his wife up at the airport. He told us to think about it for a bit after we got home and call him up if we wanted to buy in. ::yes::

Is there anything for little ones to do while parents take the tour? Our kids are 3 and 5 so they could be a little rambunctious if we kept them away from Goofy's Barnstormer any longer than necessary!:rotfl:

Yes, they have a kids area complete with supervision. Kids can play video games, watch movies-essentially its like one of their kids clubs. They also get to go to the ice cream parlor at the end.
