DVC @The Institute, Sentinel report.

I guess I'm an optimist until proven otherwise.

My family enjoyed swimming against the "current" at WL, a zero entry pool like AKL would be good, or maybe the water will bubble up at various places in the pool; all of these would make a pool interesting without having a slide. However, I also could just be wishing, only time will tell.

Vernon,

Why would you say that hopes for a major pool have been dashed? From what I have heard they are looking to try and replicate the look and feel of SAB, just w/o the big slide.

I know everyone was probably hoping for a slide or two, but...having the pool the size of SAB with maybe a lazy river might not be so bad.

In any event, we all know that this is purely conjecture and speculation at this point. Nothing is ever firm until SS opens up in 2004.

I did find it intriguing that the article mentioned that some of the old buildings were going to be kept. I thought I had heard that everything was getting leveled and they were starting from scratch?

We shall wait and see.

IMHO the reason for no slides is to minimise the need for life guards ( i.e.cost cutting) , that leads me to believe they are looking ALREADY to keep costs down. I don't think it's a good start. Didn't read anything in that article that alluded to a SAB style mini waterpark. Again the talk of keeping some of the old buildings looks to be a cost cutting exercise, I do hope they don't try and do this resort on the cheap.

I wonder if DVC is aiming to appeal to a more mature (i.e. adults traveling without children) DVC buyer to go along with the DD and PI locale?
