Does DVC ownership affect your taxes? Do you have to file in Florida and your home state??

No, you don't officially own FL property and are not considered a resident of FL. DVC pays the taxes and each member pays the taxes through their dues. Taxes are estimated for the year. At the end of the year when the tax bill comes to DVC, they look to see if they were correct with their estimate. If not, we pay more in Jan to make up the difference. I don't recall DVC being over in their estimate.

We deduct on our 1040 taxes the portion of our dues that goes for DVC real estate taxes.
