If renting half your points yearly doesn't qualify as "regular/frequent" I don't know what those words even mean TBH.
Well, in the context of the contract that one needs to rent to a level that you are a commercial enterprise, it can fit.
If someon has 500 points and rents one 250 reservation, that is half the points but still only one.
And I think it would be extremely hard for
DVC to even attempt to say one rental, even every year is frequent or even regular enough to be considered a business, given one’s right to rent.
Now, you have the maximum of 8000 points and renting 4000? That’s going to be different and why I think the 2008 policy…yes, I’m referring to it again…used number of reservations vs just points..because it did cap those higher point owners from having too many.
Frequently is reservations in the names of others pretty much every month, and is doing that regularly meaning year after year after year.
But, they are required to show a pattern of rentals that can be reasonably concluded that you are doing it as a business and in the past, renting half to cover your dues on all owned, was seen as acceptable because your primary motivation for a owning was still to vacation.
Whether this will still be seen as okay? No idea but my guess is it will be up to a certain point because I think they will look, like they always have, at the number of reservations one has in others names and not how many points were used.
