Not unless he's willing to buy you two coffee cups, 4 glasses and a bottle of dish soap each time you visit and have them delivered to your studio at the start of every stay.Me too!

actually--to give him credit--he just called me (he's been on vacation) and was seeing if I was really serious about my emails. When he found out I was perturbed by the DVC change he indicated he was going to pass on the fact that the membership IS upset to his boss--he also indicated that it was a decision made out of health reasons--and I reminded him that I grew up in a 900 square foot house with NO dishwasher and somehow managed not to get poisoned by dirty dishes . . . .I also told him about the dish soap issue . . . .
If this were truly for HEALTH reasons, wouldn't they be delivering sealed-from-the-manufacturer stacks of cups, not loose from bulk, touched by who knows, exposed to who knows what cups?
I haven't read all 67 pages so forgive me if this has been asked already.
The last time we stayed in a non-DVC resort we had actual glasses and ceramic mugs. Wouldn't the mugs & glasses in the DVC units be cleaned and replaced just like at the non-DVC resorts - taken to an area in the resort to be put through a large washer? Aren't the used glasses and mugs at the non-DVC resorts replaced with fresh ones from the mousekeeping carts in between guests? Why is that practice ok for non-DVC resorts but not DVC studios?
They would be between guests, but unless you get daily mousekeeping or pay for more T&T, they only get changed every 4th day. Maybe. So there is probably where the health issue is coming from.
There is no dishwasher . You only have a small wet bar sink you have A microwave but no stove .
Hell paper cups and plactic forks and paper napkins Not a problem for me .
I think it makes sence that you do not have actual glass ware and pots and pans and the whole kitchen sink.
I normaly get a 1 brm or a 2 brm I think they are merely tring to make the studio what it is in my mind the lowest level of stay.
This is my 2 cent Now that i have said it I will get flamed by everyone for saying it.
SO keep the flames down please
we still pay the same level of dues per point so why should we settle for less![]()
But this is something that should be expected it is a studio for gods sake!
If they want to be deluxe then spend the points for a one BDR and poof your deluxe
I fail to see the actaul ablity to push this point. It is like saying why doesn't a studio have a whril pool tub.
Or a washer and dryer
How do i post a picture so i can show you want the guides say..
I know they don't have ceramic mugs and glasses in the All Stars Family Suites, but they do have them (at least they used to have them) in the Ft Wilderness Cabins. Have they been removed from the other resorts? If not, why not? If this is a health issue, it should be a health issue at the GF, YC, BC, Polynesian, CR, etc.
Yes, they do. But the family suites don't.Don't the cabins have dishwashers? i can't remember cause we are always in our RV when we're at the fort.

IF (and that's a big if) the decision was made for health reasons, why do glass cups and/or mugs remain in other Deluxe accomodations....That's what I want DVC to answer.
I've not received a response within 5 business days, so I sent another email this morning.
Absolutely....it's just gross...If this were truly for HEALTH reasons, wouldn't they be delivering sealed-from-the-manufacturer stacks of cups, not loose from bulk, touched by who knows, exposed to who knows what cups?
That is what I mean - between guests. I can live with washing out my own mug or glass, as I have a sponge and soap, for the 4+ days that I'm in a studio, but how would replacing them between guests be different at the DVC resorts as opposed to the non-DVC resorts? If people want fresh glasses/mugs while staying it should be an option, just like paying for extra mousekeeping, extra towels, etc. but don't take them out completely.
This is just DVC being cheap.
