Interesting, wonder why the DVC spokesperson told Deb Wills that the soap was being removed too. Looks like every response that is given is slightly different.

Explain to me why, I should spend my valuable vacation time and money on transportation to make a special trip to Publix to spend money on disposable cups when my dues have already paid for the mugs and glasses to be in the room?

I'm sure your sentiment would be totally different if you were told, hey, bring your own TP. Go to the supermarket and POOF, you have toilet paper.

I would rather use soft TP ,

I always get a car and yes I am not scared to take a little time to get beer , wine , vodka so cups would not bother me.

Oh next it will e We pay for the Buses so why don't they bring us.

I didn't ask if you would rather use soft TP. I asked you to explain why I should be required to spend time and money to go buy something for which I have already paid in full? (And especially when the product I have already paid for is far superior).

No one is telling you (yet) that you have no other option than to go buy TP. You are choosing to do so. In terms of the mugs and glasses, there isn't that choice.

To me e-mails are more green friendly. Whether a complaint comes via e-mail or snail mail it should be taken seriously either way.

Except they aren't. E-mails are easy to send and often knee jerk reactions (and dare I say over- reactions.) Writing a letter takes more time, thought and effort and that is recognized by many.

When I went to buy my season tickets for the Buffalo Sabres, there was a snafu and it appeared I was out of luck. I took the time to put it in writing, slap a stamp on it and mail it in. I received a phone call and was told the fact that while I was not the only one to complain, the fact I took the time to put it in writing led them to give me a personal call to fix the issue.

I would imagine the others who fired off e-mails probably got an e-mail response.

No they aren't wrapped. Chances are they will be handled by the same housekeeper who cleaned the toilet with rubber gloves on and then hand washed the glasses with those same rubber gloved hands. That is just magical. At least you could hand wash your own glasses before. Now with no dish washing liquid, you will have to revell in the filth the mousekeeper left behind in the paper cups.
:faint: Ok....this is so gross.....I can't even stand it.

Hmmm I wonder if the soap has been put back or never missing:confused3
Did you ask if they will bring the mugs on request?
Thanks

Dave--was that meant to be a real comment or sarcasm? Because if I had kids who used sippy cups (thankfully in my family we're past that stage) I would be concerned about making sure my kid's sippy cups were cleaned properly each time . . . .

I'm being optimistic and hoping that you meant you were glad that it turns out that (at least at OKW) dish soap and sponges are still available in studios.

I am not quite sure that I understand this post, however

1) many visitors do not drive a vehicle on their vacation
2) why should they have to provide items for their studio which are provided in comparable hotel rooms and timeshares
3) this still does not solve the environmental issues

Sorry I forgot something

The styrofoam cups are not sealed - after preparing your room the housekeeping will go to the housekeeping closet and get the paper products for your unit, which are stored there in bulk.

No requirements on how the housekeeper handles your paper products!

I send down enough stuff UPS.....the point is Disney pushes the whole....
"bubble theory".....I don't want to leave the bubble to get some
necessities that should be provided.

I forgot to post this earlier, but deltachi8, may I say that I admire you. You did state that this topic is not something which concerns you directly (apologies if I misphrased that) but you have encouraged people to write if it does indeed concern them.

You have also been very respectful to those with a differing opinion; while we may not always agree I do enjoy well-reasoned arguments.

Thank you...

It was reported by the OP in the very first post on this thread (bolded by me in the quote below):

Just got back from AKV SV Studio stay (loved it.)
Info from a Manager is that there is a new "disposables in Studios" policy in effect across property: Studios will no longer have glasses or mugs - only disposable plates and cups. Since you're never supposed to use styrofoam in a microwave, you have to heat water for tea in the coffee maker, or bring your own microwavable mug. I wouldn't put the plastic WDW refillable mugs in there, either.
If I want tea at midnight and I'm at AKV or SSR, it's not exactly worth going to the 24-hr refills spots (like Poly or BWV)!:rotfl:
I also told her that we received no dish liquid. She said that's because of the new "disposables in Studios" policy. I asked how she'd like me to properly clean their coffee maker without soap. Her reply was "hmmmm."

These are obviously not critical issues. I presume that they'd never do this with Villas that have full kitchens.

We're adding a mug & small dish liquid to our "DVC-to-go" list ... ;)

While ITA, in the business world it does seem as though hard copies do get more attention than email. It's too easy to hit the delete button or claim the emial got lost in cyberspace.

But I will drive to get soft TP .. Unlike some I am not scared to go out the peskey west gate to PUBLICs..

I feel that is is not a waste of time. I normally do My publics run the day we arrive . Which is normally a pool Day .

So say what you will I am still Not against this change ..

I am against the losing of other perks but we all bought a VACATION INTEREST not perks or cups bowls or even light bulbs..

Except no one is telling you that you have no options for drinking cups, they have provided one - you just don't like it. Just like some don't like the TP and chose to buy different. When I stay at POP I don't care for the shampoo so I choose to go buy the alternative that suits me better or bring it with me.

Does the health dept. have requirements? because that's just gross.
