DVC studios - fewer amenities

But I will drive to get soft TP .. Unlike some I am not scared to go out the peskey west gate to PUBLICs..

I feel that is is not a waste of time. I normally do My publics run the day we arrive . Which is normally a pool Day .

So say what you will I am still Not against this change ..

I am against the losing of other perks but we all bought a VACATION INTEREST not perks or cups bowls or even light bulbs..

But we DID purchase "equipment and furnishings" that are supposed to be maintained of similar quality, according to our agreements. So if they can change the quality/usefulness of minor supplies, what is stopping them from changing to cheaper furniture, or replacing the beds with Wal-Mart futons? After all, according to you, we bought a vacation interest, not the furnishings.

Except no one is telling you that you have no options for drinking cups, they have provided one - you just don't like it. Just like some don't like the TP and chose to buy different. When I stay at POP I don't care for the shampoo so I choose to go buy the alternative that suits me better or bring it with me.

Yes, but the example DBorges provided was to go buy more disposable cups for $1.99. I have already paid for the mugs and glasses. So I'm not understanding why I have to go buy something when the product has already been purchased, and the product I have paid for is a non-disposable product.

This is like comparing towels to paper towels. We paid for the purchase of real towels, and our dues pay for the cleaning of those towels. It would be awfully tacky for DVC to suddenly say, no more towels. You can have eight paper towels to use when you wash your hands and take a shower. Whey would I then be required to go to WalMart to purchase real towels because that is my preference? I've already paid for real towels.

The disposable cups are NOT an equivalent replacement of the glasses and mugs, any more than paper towels would be an equivalent replacement for hand towels or bath towels.

I forgot to post this earlier, but deltachi8, may I say that I admire you. You did state that this topic is not something which concerns you directly (apologies if I misphrased that) but you have encouraged people to write if it does indeed concern them.

You have also been very respectful to those with a differing opinion; while we may not always agree I do enjoy well-reasoned arguments.

Thank you...

Thank you. I enjoy reading your posts here and even more so on the transportation board, you have helped many people.

Life would be boring if we all agreed all of the time.

While ITA, in the business world it does seem as though hard copies do get more attention than email. It's too easy to hit the delete button or claim the emial got lost in cyberspace.

Wow... I'm surprised that Disney has this kind of attitude in regards to e-mails.

I own a Starwood resort and I had a complaint recently. I e-mailed them. I got the usual your response has been received but ours comes with a line that says and we'll respond to your e-mail within 72 hours. I was able to resolve my issue via e-mail. In this day and age... I think ignoring e-mails will cost you a fortunate publicly.

I did send Jim Lewis an e-mail. I hope he reads it. I even sent one even though I've never stayed in a studio. I told him that I think all the dishware in the unit should be the real stuff. Hope he listens...

The more you post the more I get the idea that you truly do not know how other people vacation.

We are not scared to venture out of the gates, but really we do not drive down there nor do we rent a car. We take Magical Express to the complex. Do I want to take a Taxi out that way? No, who wants to spend that kind of money? It already was 14 dollars from Old Key West to the Polynesian. I can't imagine how much it would be to go off complex.

So no, it is not just easy for everyone to go off the complex. Why should I have to pack something extra or even take an entire extra suitcase because we are already packed to the max just because Disney has decided they know better what we want than we do?

Sorry--the more I thought about it the more I couldn't resist . . .

I always get a car and yes I am not scared to take a little time to get beer , wine , vodka so cups would not bother me.

Party in Dave's villa!

You did not pay for the cups Disney did.. Did you pay for the constuction of the hotel did you pay the labor for the concrete NO

People need not twist what you bought or what you own..

Interesting. So you will have no problem when items are taken away in your one or two bedroom villa? The cups? The bowls? The lightbulbs??? It's going to be hard to eat off those paper plates in the dark. :rotfl2:

I don't know about you but I expect that when I buy something that the quality meets or exceeds my cost. DVC's selling us our membership using a model villa as a replica of our purchase, and then not supplying the same or equal items in the villas is...... oh, what's that phrase again? Oh yes, Bait and Switch. :dance3:

Actually yes, we do pay for the cups and all supplies. That, among other supplies and expenses, is what our monthly dues is for.

Did we pay for the construction of the hotel? Why yes, yes we did, with our purchase of DVC.

I thought when you bought something that you do own it.

Thanks but I think I will start a new DVC trend and crack open a bottle of wine on the counter edge of my deluxe studio kitchenette and drink it out of 3 day used stryrofoam cups. It's the newest rage.

Geezz First off that would not happen the is a "dishwasher there"" :lmao:

Second light bulbs was me poking at the sillyness ..

I do like the DVC Ca outlook Bio_degradable cups DRINK QUICK studio dwellers..Your hands may get wet.

As I have said 1000 time

SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT ANYTIME..

Just because I disagree doesn't mean that I can not poke fun at the ones that are upset . After all you poke at me all the time so :P

I am currently someone who rents from a dvc member and considering buying. My suggestion is that someone take a look at their purchase agreement to see what exactly they are getting in their purchase. Write a letter of complaint with an exerpt of that aggrement. Let others download it on their pc.Print it. Add their own signature. If enough members do this you might just see some action on this. I would also keep this up every month until they get tired of it all. Eventualy someone will listen.

ITA!!!

Maybe 250 people here are upset out of the approx 165000 members

Expert use of statistics, there :lmao: .

We didn't just buy the points. The points correspond with time spent in vacation accomodations. Vacation accommodations are subject to change, but - as has been indicated in this thread numerous times - material changes require substitutions of equal or greater quality.

You are wrong.

Maybe 250 people here are upset out of the approx 165000 members

So that is what .660% of the body or the members.

It would not warrent a change in disneys eyes.

The point we bought are nothing more then the vechicle used to secure a reservation.

So what we actualy own is the points not the cups glasses bowls beds ect

It is really simple and easy to understand the confusion here is some members think they Own Vacation Club .

With a 200 point contract you own this .06139 interst in a unit .

So with that being said I paid for 1 nail ..At AKV
I also own a Nail at Boardwalk since MY points there are 220 and that is .6250 Ofd a unit there..

The ohter thing is Your agreement may be amended at any time .

and you agreed to abided by any said changes..

Disney will have no idea how many people are upset till people start staying in the studios with the new arrangement...

Most people who own DVC don't Dis:rolleyes:

Maybe they'll replace the king bed with a blow up bed.....hey we can still
sleep right.

On Tuesday I was feeling insipred by this thread. If you don't like it don't just complain to yourself. Let someone in charge who can makes changes know about.

So I called the city to complain about the condition of the road in front of my DD's school. It is a terrible mess. The whole road needs to be redone next year when the construction is done, but for now patch needs to be put down on the numerous large pot holes.

24 hours later and the road is patched! It ain't perfect, but it is much better.

I feel good. I can't believe all it took was one call. Why in world didn't anyone who lived on the street or even the school principle think of it sooner I don't know. I sure am glad I called. :thumbsup2

I really believe with all the feedback they are getting this new policy will not last long. Does anyone remember the pool temps a few years ago?

Rumor has it they heat to 82....what was it...I'm afraid to ask.
