DVC Stay & Magical Express

Has anyone set this up for a trip yet? I will need to set it up for most of my family and not sure what I need to do. I have everyones flight information already. Does anyone know?

It is very easy. Just call member services and give them the flight information for each of your guests. I was told they would mail all the luggage tags to me along with instructions 21 days prior to our trip.

I just make my arrangements last week. They will need to know how many people, your airline and the flight information. And if your flights change between now and when you take off - be sure to let them know!

How exactly does this work with DVC? I've seen advertisements about this offer with general packages but am not sure of the DVC details. We will be staying at BWV in June and will be renting a car, so we aren't interested in using Magical Express. However, my sister will be joining us for the last 3 days of our vacation.....she'll be arriving on a flight into Orlando but will then be returning home on the same flight as us at the end of the vacation. Is it somehow possible to set her up with Magical Express to get her transportation to BWV when she arrive and to have her luggage transferred as well? How much does it cost to do just one way?

First, is your sisters' name included on the reservation? If not, you'll have to add it. Then give MS her flight information. There isn't a charge for this service at this time. You can make it for one way to/or from as well as round trip.

We are doing a Grand Gathering of 20 people, all staying at BCV and on 4 different flights arriving on 2 different days. It was very easy to schedule just a little time consuming because of the number of people.

So- this Magical Express..... does it pick you as well as your luggage up at the airport?? And it's free to DVC members??

It picks up you and your luggage. One nice point is that you don't have to wait for your luggage, though. They will bring that to your room later.

Interesting thread; it made a thought form in my head. Tyler, our trustworthy CM-in-Purple-Pants said this:

[He was asked if luggage will be delivered to your room even if you're not there yet] From what I am to understand, YES, it will be in your room. Bell services is pre-tipped for this.

Which is fine for non-DVC resorts, but could be, um, er, interesting for DVCers. If your luggage beats you to the resort (not unlikely as it's probably faster to load/unload luggage than people - plus the talk of '2 hour waits' at the airport) which room you get will already be decided before you walk in the door.

Dr. T - I'm torn on this point. Gut feeling makes me think they'd just hold it at the desk as they would if your room were not yet ready. However, if they did put it in your room, they would be less likely to re-assign to the biggest complainer at the desk before you checked in! Not going to open that other can 'o worms called requests.
