DVC specials on DCL

Hi, We are taking a cruise in a few weeks and have been looking at the DVC with the current specials for AKL and BLT. Does anyone know if there are specials offered for DVC onboard a DCL cruise? And are they typically better than what is being offered on land? Thanks so much!!

They do offer onboard incentives for purchasing or adding on. When we went in May it was $8/pt, plus an additional $6 off for 160 points, $8 off for 200, and $10 off for I think 250 or more.

We bought 200 points at BLT and got $16 off the 'list' price. Not sure how that stacks up to the 'everyday' promotions, but it was good enough for us.

Do your homework prior to sailing. Usually the incentive during the cruise is better than from Telesales or Preview Center Guides.

Thanks for the info. After our Disney cruise in August I'll post what incentives they had if anyone else is interested. It sounds like it's worth waiting. Can't wait!!

I can't wait to find out!! Our cruise is Sept 3rd, and was wondering the same thing. We have 320 pt at AKV, and would love to add on at AKV, VGC, BLT or SSR. If the incentives are good.

We went on a cruise in April and added-on at SSR, one of our home resorts. Believe me it was not in our plans to do that, but DH is always looking for a good deal

I'm not sure what the deal was, but I think we ended up paying $87/pt for a 200 point add on. I do not know what the deal was for a new contract.

I would wait to purchase until you have seen what they offering on the cruise.

125 points - 4 day ocean view cruise for 4 people including gratuities
200 points - 7 day ocean view cruise for 4 people including gratuities
320 points - 7 days in Maui resort
500 points - Adventures for 2 people

Bay Lake Tower
100 points-$13 off per point; 125 points-$15 off per point; 200 points-$17 off

Animal Kingdom
100 points-$21 off per point; 125 points-$23 off per point; 200 points-$25 off

Our cruise is 4 months out. If we do this, we'll likely do it then because we'd like to close by the end of the year. (unless it's not a good idea...I'm still reading, just starting the thought process)

Oh goodness, there were two gentlemen - I think one of them was named Terry. Sorry I can't remember for sure.

The celebration started at 2:30 and was over in time for the lifeboat drill - I think 4:00. It was a nice little something to do before the drill. I would go again.

No problem - ask away! The discounts that they gave to us were for existing DVC members, so for us the referral discount would not apply. I am not sure what the incentives are for new members. I would do your research now like you are doing and then take that information with you on your cruise for comparison. Hope that helps a little bit.
