Sorry to start another thread...

Do DVC members get a discount at the Spa?

I don't see anything on the Aulani website or on the DVC perks website about a Spa discount. Maybe I just missed it. But I just booked a reservation, and the bottom of the confirmation email says ""Disney Vacation Club Members; please add DVC to your reservation notes."

What is that notation for?

Thanks for any help!

I just went to the spa in Nov. There was an add on for dvc members for no cost. I can’t remember what it’s called. Something about using lomilomi sticks during the massage? I declined.

Was able to secure a last min massage on our last day a few days ago. 55-minutes of deep tissue. Would’ve loved a longer massage but the time available was at 4pm. Anyways, was told that DVC discount couldn’t be applied to the service, but applicable to products /merchandise.

Did they tell you which spa services qualify?

I was also told no DVC discount at the spa. I don't recall ever getting one there.

I think the DVC benefit at the Spa was a longer service than the standard one. Something like an extra 15 minutes on the massage?

Sadly, when I was there in Nov, it was an “upgrade” from standard to lomilomi, which I thought was actually a downgrade after trying it.

Agreed. That's why I no longer ask for the DVC "upgrade". They should really offer a choice of additional services if they want to make it a true benefit.
Do you guys happen to know what the difference is between standard and lomi lomi?

I actually totally forgot to ask about any kind of DVC discount/upgrade when we went this summer, so I'm assuming that we did the standard massage. It was fine; the relaxation area prior to the massage was certainly the best part.

IIRC, the lomi lomi includes the use of a wooden stick that they roll and press across parts of your body during parts of the massage. It doesn't add any time, and makes the experience a little less enjoyable to me (which is why I never asked for the "upgrade" after the first time).

Thanks. Yes we definitely didn't have any sticks involved, but I agree that I'm not sure I would have wanted that anyway.

Yeah, a special stick but I would have said more brushing than rolling— annoyingly they’ve started adding “skin brushing” to the standard Swedish massage on the DCL ships which I find irritating (to my skin, and generally not relaxing) and just a way to give the masseuse a bit of a break on our time. Just booked a standard massage for Jan, so we’ll see how it goes. I agree the relaxation room is far superior to the massage (at least compared to your average luxury hotel or DCL massage/spa experience).
